Yelena is a blonde woman of about average height. Her blue eyes are always scanning her surroundings, looking for her next target. Her blemish-free skin still has the glow of youth, giving her the appearance of being in her early twenties. Modest curves can sometimes be glimpsed, though her uniform generally obscures her femininity.

The Soviet's moods can sometimes be observed in her facial expressions, and she does grin broadly when having fun. When given time to dwell on the horrors of war, Yelena's natural tendency is toward either brooding or vodka. Often one, then the other.

Three parallel scars run from the jawline on the left side of her face down toward her neck. They have faded to white, but are noticeable with anything more than a glance.
