Ivar

Group: Vikings

Name: Ivar.

Age: 22.

Occupation: Seer and priest.

Sexuality: Bisexual.

Physical Description:

Ivar is a young man, who, among other vikings, might count as short. He is very pale, which contrasts his dark hair and clothes. He has fierce blue eyes, framed by thick lashes and a line of black khol. His hair is dark black and reaches his shoulder, accompanied with a short beard. The tips of his fingers are tainted, sometimes red and sometimes black. His fierce stare and frown give him the look of a learned man, and they often look out of place on his young, smooth face. He has multiple religious tattoos.

On the side of his neck theres a massive, frightening bite mark, and there are claw scars on his stomach, and both stand pink-ish on his white skin. There are a few battle scars as well, but they arent many. He wears a simple black hood over his clothes, preferring simplicity over the status symbols of his position.

Personality:

Ivar is a quiet, soft spoken man. He tends to speak slowly, carefully choosing his words until the sentence is crafted perfectly. Make no mistake, though perfectly in his eyes could be completely cloudy to a stranger. Despite his peculiar way of talking, he enjoys conversations, and likes talking to interesting people.

His curiosity knows no bounds, and he will have a question ready for whatever he sees or hears. Be it spiritual, physical, from the mind or the heart or the hands, Ivar wants to know and learn and expand his knowledge. He is cunning and wise and knows how to twist matters in the exact way he wants them to be.

Ivar can be fierce and frightening, full of unknown secrets and holy words. He can scare Earls and warriors, housewives and healers. But on the other hand, for the right people (although few) he can be kind, and gentle, and even loving. He will protect and nurture and care for the chosen people in which he finds solace, but to get on his good side, you need to work hard.

Biography:

Ivar was born the third son of a boat builder. His mother died in his birth, leaving his father to raise his three sons. One after one, tragedies hit the household. Ivar's oldest brother Ove, drowned at sea, on a raid to the northern lands. His father, struck with grief over the loss of his son and wife, wandered into the woods and never returned. That left Gustaf and Ivar, who were just children, aged 15 and 12, to fend for themselves.

When Ivar was 14, two years after his father's disappearance, a bear found its way into the isolated household of the two teens. Gustaf was in the village, trying to sell fish he had managed to catch, and Ivar was alone. The bear attacked the young boy, but for an unknown reason, didn't kill him, biting his neck. Ivar was left on the ground outside their home, covered in blood, waiting for the Valkyrie to take him to the afterlife. When Gustaf returned, almost two days later, Ivar was still alive.

Gustaf carried his brother into the village to see a healer, and once people had heard the story, they believed Ivar was blessed by the gods. For twenty days Ivar did not wake, and the people have given up on him. At the twentieth day, he opened his eyes. Ivar claimed he had seen and spoken to the gods, and after a few months, the young 14 years old was the known seer and priest of the village. His relationship with the Gods had earned him a place of honor even at the highest tables, and he was, despite his young age, a counselor to the Earl and common men both.

Years passed, and his status was only established more. At the age of 22, no one questions Ivar's position as the messenger o the gods, after more true prophecies and succesful rituals than any other priest the small village has known before him.

Family: (if any)

Gustaf remains Ivar's closest person. He remembers the days Ivar was a bubbly, laughing boy, and the two are still as close as ever. He is 25 years old, and has taken over their father's work as a boat builder, making boats for the Earl himself sometimes.

Ivar had a lover once. A boy named Tait. But Tait had died in battle, right in front of Ivar, and Ivar has been reluctant to take on another lover.
