Hoarr

Group: Vikings

Name: Hoárr

Age: 31

Occupation: Retired-explorer/Viking. Hunter Fisherman

Sexuality: Hetro

Physical Description: Giving to his name he has markings about his left eye causing him to rarely open it. Knotted and plaited beard with long hair treated much the same being of an ashing mixture of greying and the darker brown almost black he had in his exploration and viking years. Covered in runic tattoos, some depicting legends of his people while others he claims are the magical runes Odin bestows to strengthen mind and arm. Showings signs of he is no more the explorer viking he was once before but for the scarring mixed in with the ink. Beyond his prime but not far enough that he is frail or weak, confident no saxon can stand against him.

Personality: Moving with purpose, he believes that the path he walks is defined by the gods. That his times adventuring were to give him the knowledges needed to aid in what he does now. A confidence and arrogance which comes from the belief that he is in the right. That he might near speak for the gods.

Biography: Being born with birth markings on his left eye, the seerer and shamans of his people gave him his name rather than his family. One-eye. It was said this boy was born with the sign of the sacrificed eye of Odin. If this meant the boy was nothing but a husk and discarded piece of sacrifice or that the boy would come to greatness was of some debate. For what does the a symbol of something that was sacrificed and discarded mean? Good or Ill?

With the duality of why he'd been given his name driving him and pushing him to prove and show that it was something of greatness and honour. Hoárr joined the viking and explorer ships of the norse folk at a young age. First being of hand in ship maintenance and later in the actual combat, trade and communication. Many civilisations met, folk and languages strange to his norse tongue picking up what he could to enable trade between his people and theirs.

In his elder age having seen the lands of distant and odd cultures, he returned to find that many spoke of a much closer yet no less richer land. Some land of angles and Saxon folk just to the west. Having known those lands and having visited them he got the idea to return there as well. Maybe if he could aid in building a settlement there this could be a new home for their people and bloodline. So before even the coming of the future king and jarl of the combined folk of saxon and norse, Hoárr sailed solo to their lands. To hide in woods and forest, to hunt and kill. Becoming more a legend and folk tale of the village folk, a wild man in the woods that children might tell of. All so he could come to know them and how best to help his blood brothers when they arrived.

Family: His parents having settled in some distant land, along with his siblings now who too are exploring the waters for places of their own. He expects not to see them again, and hopes not to. For if he does not see them again, it means they have found new lands to call their own.
