Elaina is compact and muscular, with an athletic build.  Her work built lean hard muscle over her body and has never been a classically soft beauty.  Her competitive nature combined with this resulted in few lasting relationships.  She has collected several tattoos over the last few years, she was particularly fond of Thor's hammer on her right hip with the handle just visible at the top of her jeans.  Her dark hair and bronzed skin compliment each other and she would easily be considered beautiful even with her lack of makeup and the fact that she only dresses for function and not for fashion.

Background:
The only thing Elaina ever wanted to do was spend time outside and have fun.  When she was young she would always being outside with the boys running around and proving that she could do anything they could and usually better.  She grew up hunting, fishing, and camping with her parents and brother but always enjoyed spending time in the forest by herself camping and enjoying nature.

She started learning how to Smith from her father when she was 10, at first passing him tools and eventually moving up to working the bellows and eventually hammering white hot steel.  As she got older she spent her time training and learning new techniques to stay ahead of her male competitors, since there was little enough demand in the world for blacksmiths she had to be the best around.  Her perseverance paid off when she was offered a position at a Smithy in Austin Texas, which was a little further from home than she wanted to be but she couldn't turn down the opportunity.

She had just taken the time to spend a few weeks with her family before leaving when it all happened.  She was out in the woods with her pack, a rifle, and a few days worth of supplies when it all went south.  She was sighting in a deer for dinner when her cell went off, the small amount of movement she took to silence it spooked her prey.  She cursed herself for even bringing the thing before taking the call.  Reception was spotty this far into nowhere and she wasn't sure who was calling her so she answered since the deer was gone anyway.  It sounded like her father, but she couldn't tell what he was saying over the static on the line.  She tried to listen as best as she could before responding, "I can't hear you Dad.....I'll head home and we can talk there.  Love you."  He sounded worried so she packed up her things and headed out.  Once she made it home she knew things were wrong as her family was gone and she could hear chaos in the distance.  She turned on the TV and tried to find the news as she called again but all circuits were busy.

She spent the next weeks trying to find her family and get them to the cabin, but was unsuccessful.  While she could hunt, fish, and gather the necessary supplies to survive she knew that it was only a matter of time before she would be found by someone who had enough guns and people to take hers.  She packed up her dad's old Chevy pickup with all of her gear, tents, fishing poles, rifles and ammo that she had and set off for somewhere safe, not that that really existed anymore.  She paused before she started packing her tools from the forge.  She didn't know how long she would be gone, nor what awaited her when she got to where she was going.

She took off into the back woods and trails of Montana and headed south from her cabin trying to find a place to start over.
