Martel is a consummate HR professional, through and through, and after about five minutes with her you get the impression that Martel could charm the pants off a khaki-clad grizzly bear if it would further her cause, using nothing more than calculated speech patterns, nonverbal cues, and dramatic timing.
It's not to say she's not genuine--that's for you to decide. But it can be hard to trust a player, especially one so good at the game.
