History:

It turns out, Fiona orchestrated much if not all of the trouble caused during the Patternfall War.  She and Deirdre turned traitor, married Mandor Sawall, and groomed Brand to ensure he also turned.

Of course, how much of this is generally known is another question as despite Fiona walking around flanked by two Chaos Tritons as guards, few seem to believe that she, the idyllic Princess of Amber, could be a traitor.
