Reign of the Titans

"War...War never changes. Since the dawn of humankind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God[s] to justice to simple, psychotic rage." - Fallout 3

Preface:
Reign of the Titans is a continuation of a game I used to run with a friend (Rise of the Titans).

Over the course of Rise, the Titans were released from their prison and spawned a pantheon of new gods, breeding with the monstrous Typhon to create a bestial race of deities.

The old gods (Greeks, Egyptians, Norse, etc.) built a massive army of godlings (demigods) to combat their monstrous foe. Regardless of their valiant, prolonged efforts, the Army of the Gods failed in its mission.

Stronger, faster and much more vicious than the Old Gods, the new pantheon swiftly dominated the world, casting the old pantheons down into the dirt.

Reign of the Titans will focus on the aftermath of Rise, the worldwide destruction caused by the Titans and their new pantheon.

A hundred years after the events of Rise, human civilization has fallen victim to the wrath of the Titans and their minions. There are small Resistance groups scattered around the globe (some of which are rumored to be led by godlings, veterans from the war between the Old Gods and the Titans) but most mortals have given in to their New Gods.

This game is contemporary, meaning that it is modern times. Not quite modern -one hundred years into the future- but technology has not advanced since the Titans rose. Civilization has come to a stand still. Electricity, running water, cell phones are still common among the humans, but the mortal armies have fallen. Nukes, tanks, military aircraft, etc. are all things of the past.

While characters in this game will be able to utilize modern technology, weaponry will be fairly limited. Assault rifles, pistols, sniper rifles and the like will be available; however, anything more advanced will not.

Overall, think of it as a post-apocalyptic world that retained its use of electricity and water. The governments and armies are gone. Each major city is run by a patron god of the new pantheon.

Introduction:
Asphodel, a city built on the ruins of New York City, New York, is one of the four major cities established by the New Gods. After NYC was flattened during the war, the New Gods chose to replace it with one of their own.

Built and run by Breya, the new goddess of the sky and leader of the New Gods (Zeus' replacement), Asphodel is a hub of human and Titan activity. Breya rules Asphodel with an iron fist, keeping the mortals securely under her thumb. During the day humans traverse the city, but at night Breya's monstrous soldiers roam the streets and tunnels, looking for Resistance forces.

A hub of human activity, the city is an easy place to blend in, for those who wish to do so. It is rumored that a faction of the Resistance has spawned in the ruins of Old New York, in the tunnels beneath Asphodel. While it is also rumored that some of the Old Gods still live and have taken up residence beneath the city with the Resistance, the humans brush it off as hopeful nonsense.

You are a citizen of Asphodel, one of the millions of faces passing by on the streets day by day. Are you new, or have you lived in the city for quite some time? Are you a human or maybe a godling (Gods are off limits, don't bother asking)? Are you part of the rumored Resistance? Are you neutral, and simply wish to live your life in Asphodel in peace? Are you a Titan sympathizer, with political ties to the New Gods?

In Asphodel, the possibilities are endless.
