Sarah Gardner

Sarah Gardner, 26

Name: Sarah Gardner
Gender: F
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Age: 26

Physical Description: Sarah is an unconventional beauty. As a female bodybuilder, she isn't to everyone's taste. But once you get past the muscle, she's a beautiful, and surprisingly girly young lady who loves her hair, makeup and jewelry. She had sultry brown eyes, lustrous hair and exaggerated curves in all the right places, and then some.

Personality: Despite what some might consider a tough exterior, Sarah is a nurturer at deeply caring person at heart. She is a resource teacher in an elementary school working with special needs kids. She likes children, but isn't ready for her own just yet. She is obviously driven almost to the point of obsession in everything she does, and knows how to sacrifice. She's new in town and kind of lonely, meeting only parents, mostly straight-female teachers and toxic gym bros through her job and main hobby/obsession.

Likes: Kids, Working out, outdoors, strong coffee, good wine
Dislikes: bad wine, toxic masculinity (she's seen enough to finally recognize it), cruelty, laziness

Background: Sarah used to be a skinny kid growing up in a rough environment. She was often accused of being anorexic, which really annoyed her because she thought she ate like a horse! She moved away from her small town in Australia to Melbourne to pursue a social work degree and started going to the gym, wanting to add some curves to her tiny frame. She was hooked right away, and took to it naturally. She loved the way her body was starting to look for the first time ever, so continued to lift heavier and harder and before she knew it she was on stage competing, where she won Victorian and Australian titles. It blew her away! She's driven by the aesthetic of it all, viewing her body as a work of art and herself as the sculptor.

Despite her increasing love and acceptance for her looks, she found herself in a series of unsatisfying and honestly toxic relationships with people who didn't really care for her. Looking to make a fresh start, she moved to the US two years ago to get her Master's degree and a teaching certificate. Recently she's moved to Wickport to take a job at an elementary school working with special needs children. She's new in town and lonely, finding it much harder to make friends and relationships in a new place than it used to be when she was a student. Hence her Heart String ad.

Writing Sample: Two or three paragraphs as this character.

The furniture in Sarah's apartment was for the most part temporarily relocated from its more permanent thrift store home. Despite being a grown up with a real, stable and fairly well-paid job, she still lived like a college student. She'd moved around enough that it became a habit, buying someone else's cast-offs, keeping things for a while she was there then selling it back when she was done with it. She had few belongings she thought of as truly hers, and hadn't been around enough to acquire new ones. She didn't really value things the way so many of her family and old friends seemed to.

Not that it looked cheap. It was - she'd decorated the whole place, including a gigantic king-sized mattress for less than a thousand dollars, but it didn't look it. She had an eye for putting pieces of furniture together to make them look their best. The mattress was the only new item in the room, factory second of course. Thrifty she was but she wasn't about to mess with bed bugs!

Somehow it all worked though, even the truly horrific olive green recliner that was straight out of a nineteen fifties den. Horribly ugly, but oh so comfortable. There was no tv, no stereo, no gaming machine, just her laptop. She didn't have a whole lot of time to waste on entertainment.

Or at least she hadn't before moving here. Now, out of school and in a steady career, even with two to three hours a day spent working out or planning meals, she found she had time on her hands she never had before. And it just served to remind her how lonely she was in Wickport. She opened up her laptop again, on the Heart String page. She'd been meaning to register for months now, but kept talking herself out of it, thinking it lame and desperate. She'd start an ad, then get discouraged by a slight inconvenience like finding the right picture and turn away from it for a week. But she always came back, the loneliness that drove it wasn't going away. Tonight, for whatever reason, she finished the application, uploading pictures, writing about herself (ugh she hated that!) It was ready to submit. She stared at the screen for a while, then finally took the plunge and posted it. Now the question was, did she wait for people to respond to it? Or seek them out herself?

Short Introduction
(anything you want, from likes to dislikes to what you are looking for: love, friends, ...)

OK, let's address the obvious first. Yes bro, I actually lift. Quite a lot really. Do you? No, actually skip that. You don't need to be a bodybuilder to message me! I meet quite enough of that at the gym.

Ugh, I hate talking about myself. I'm new in town, and it's harder to meet people than I remember. Message me, let's talk and see if anything clicks? I promise I won't hurt you.

Probably.
