Dread Reavers are flying, flaming, skeletal monsters created by cultists of The Dark Reaper in emulation of their god. They appear as the upper half of skeletons that has been defiled -- demonic horns have been grafted to the skull (or they've used the skull of a tiefling or demon), the upper arms have been replaced with horrible scythe-like blades, and their bellies burn with magical flames.

The reavers fly out of the night, screeching and slashing at their targets or unleashing gouts of hellfire from the magic that powers them -- but when struck, they reveal an even more unpleasant surprise. For Dread Reavers are rigged to explode, showering everyone in the area with bone shrapnel and flesh-rotting balefire.
