Re: Abandoned Gas station

Oswald watched, for now. Dragon Fist seemed to have the spirit calmed, at least somewhat. Hopefully they could return Flamethrower's spirit to whence it came, and go about finding whoever it was that had called him back.

He spread 'his' hands, and said "I am bidden not to reveal.  And to BURN things.  But I will not burn PEOPLE unless Bidden."  The gas station was beginning to burn again.

Re: Abandoned Gas station

Oswald grumbled, and once again put the fire out. This was starting to get old, fast.

"Interesting. I suppose I should remove his bindings before he burns the place down, then."

With that, Oswald began working on releasing the spirit. Hopefully, Flamethrower could tell them more about his captor once he'd been freed.

Re: Abandoned Gas station

Dragon Fist was trying to get Flamethrower to give him information about possible targets.

"Burning things...are you after specific structures to burn? Is there a connection between the buildings that have been burned down already?"

He shook his head, and the fire ROARED back up.  He said simply "I am bidden!"  Oswald found that whatever had been done to call him back, they had apparently gotten hold of some of his physical body to do it, and his spirit was chained by that bond.

Dragon Fist took a slightly defensive position, but made no hostile movements at the moment towards Flamethrower.

Oswald grunted as, once again, he began summoning water to put the fires out, hoping that Flamethrower's spirit would eventually give up and leave.

"It's no good, Dragon Fist! Whoever bound him has some of the poor soul's body. Unless we can sever that link, by either returning the remains to their rightful resting place, or destroying them, then there's nothing I can do to stop him now!"

He lifted his hands, and the little building ROARED into flames.  Oswald and Dragon Fist still had a clear pathway, as did his 'host', but it was a narrow path.

Dragon Fist nodded at Ozzy Sr.'s wisdom. It looked like they might have to use other methods to find out who bound Flamethrower and returned him to the land of the living.

Oswald cursed as his water did nothing to stop the fire.

"We must escape, Dragon Fist! This building is lost!"

With that, Oswald started to leave the building, hoping that the structure didn't start collapsing as he made his way out.

Somehow, the fire itself was holding the building up for them to leave.  Flamethrower was making little 'shoo' motions at them.

Dragon Fist took one last look at "Flamethrower", and then proceeded to leave with Mr. Gysbourne. If he needed help, he would assist him.

Extending his wings, he then began to make his way from the building.

Standing outside the building  his gray coat flapping in the wind was none other than the spirit of Vengence himself. Looking up at the two flying away from the building the ghost man floats up to meet them. "Greetings Champion of Light, Sage Gysbourne."

Dragon Fist stopped in front of the ghost. He'd remembered seeing him back in Texas, when he and Mirage were investigating the coming of Ahriman.

"Greetings. Perhaps you can shed some light on our situation here? It appears one of my old enemies has been brought back from the grave."

Re: Abandoned Gas station

"Greetings, Spirit. Have you come for Flamethrower's spirit as well? It seems that whoever bound him has some of his remains. Do you know anything of his captor?" asked Oswald, hoping that the Spirit of Vengeance was indeed here for the same reasons as Dragon Fist and himself.

The Shell's unflinching gaze settled on Dragon Fist. "Whomever is behind this is after you and your comrades, though I cannot fathom why. Upon my initial investigation it seemed  this person is a rank amateur but they seem to be learning incredibly quickly, my thought would be a parahuman with the ability to quickly absorb information. They have so far eluded my attempts to locate them."

Re: Abandoned Gas station

Dragon Fist thought for a moment.

"I have a suspicion...I believe it might be the work of a person we had on our team...Yuri, who was an assistant DA...he went by the name of Savant. But...where he learned to bring back the dead...that's a question in itself..."

"Interesting... Well, he could learn something like that from a book, though where he'd find such a tome would be beyond me. Or, if he could find one, he could've picked a necromancer's brain," said Oswald, wondering where he'd have found a necromancer to learn from.

"If LeCarde has escaped already, I fear for our safety. If my grandson told me correctly, he was locked up by the Federal Government, under advisement from Ethan Sharpe. If he escaped from that sort of containment so quickly... I do not like the prospects of most anywhere else holding him, either." said Oswald, grimly.

Re: Abandoned Gas station

Dragon Fist was perplexed. They had to stop Flamethrower, but it seemed like they had more questions than answers.

To both of them he asked, "Do we have a way of tracking Flamethrower's spirit? Would it make sense for him to go back to where whoever this is has a part of his body? The sooner we stop him, the sooner these arsons stop."

"Excellent. Which will take us one step closer to who has brought him back and is using him. Just let me know when you do find him, and we can deal with him from there."
