Gracie Lynn DuPree:
Gracie runs over to Darius "Hey luv, it wasn't your fault, don't worry about it" she takes his hand as she looks into his eyes "You just put more into it then you knew you could. He should have moved though I might have distracted him a little when I was running behind you." she grins innocently as she thinks how she wanted him out and don't like to see anyone hurt but he did deserve some of it after all, he was trying to do it to others intentionally. Now she just had to make Darius feel better.
Darius is distracted from seeing Brian and Coach Cordova exiting the gym by Gracie's appearance at his side. All shame and guilt seems to melt away, like snow under the spring sun. Gracie always seemed good at cheering him up, no pun intended!
"You can be distracting... true enough. Odds are that'll be his excuse later. It'll help with the guys, rather than admit I outted him fair and square. Good for saving face, blaming distractions on the hottest girl in school running by. Not everyone can take that distraction and turn it into inspiration like some of us..." Darius realizes what he just said a moment after saying it, and quickly looks in another direction to hide the blush that would be darkening his already dark cheeks if she caught it.
Wow. Cheese much Darius? Man up dude. "Er... um. I mean. Um..."
As he looks quickly away, he spots Buffy just as she says Good Game. The laugh to comes out of his mouth is enough to cover his blush (he hopes), and he walks over to offer up a handshake for what he felt
had been a good game. At least she'd been competitive without dropping to Brian's levels. That was the kind of teamwork and sportsmanship that he could respect.
"It was. Good game, Buffy." He smiles warmrly at the new girl. It's not quite the same smile he reserves for Gracie, but it's assuredly a nice smile to see no doubt.
"Yeah, looks like I just ruined the chance of Dodgeball for any other classes for another year!" He offers in response to Melba's decleration of the game being interesting, but he fails to note the pensive look on her face.
"Sorry if that means more laps next class or something. I know no one enjoys those." Is his apologetic comment to everyone else as the walk past towards the lockerrooms. He hadn't really stopped to think about reprecussions to his action, and now has begun to wonder about those.
Darius tries to offer Lucy a sympathetic smile and wave in response to the glare, but fends off the guilt she'd sought to reinstill in him. Gracie had sufficiently eradicated that from his mind entirely.
