Typical Hospital Room

Jeremy is present.

Allura and Zoey arrive.


Jeremy Terrance is there in a hospital bed. He looks harshly at the girls, "Don't you two have school ?"

Zoey grinned and shrugged as she entered the room.  She walked over to Jeremy's bed and kissed his cheek, "You're more important.  Wasnt much left of it today anyway."

She sat on the end of his bed and looked at him concerned and took out her phone.  "Jeremy, what happened?  Rory didnt come to school yesterday or today, and then we get this weird text message from him," Zoey hands Jeremy her phone with the message from Rory,  "and now you're in the hospital. What's going on?"

Jeremy "I was attacked by some people who, were not exactly people. Tried to make me forget everything. Oh Rory I fear they may have tried to attack him too. I have to get out of here and find my son."

He looked in poor shape though with bruising on his face and arms.

Zoey placed a firm hand on his arm and shook her head.  "Rory's been captured, Jeremy.  Im sorry, but you have to stay here.  For now anyway.  We'll find him and bring him back.  If you're going to insist on helping, then tell us what you need and we'll bring it to you.  But you have to stay here and heal first."

"Wow Jeremy you look bad. We will get Rory back but what he sent us makes no sense."

Jeremy struggles to sit up.

"I know girls but he's my son. I am worried about him.  What exact message did he leave ?"

Zoey helps Jeremy sit up more comfortably, "It said he was captured by intel insect hive. if found, man was exp on. Rory.  I know he's your son Jeremy, he's our best friend.  But you got the snot kicked out of you hard.  You need to recover."

Jeremy looks to Zoey, "He said what ? That doesn't make much. Wait a minute intel insect hive ? Mmmm I need to get to my library. The rest though sounds like he helped someone a man though I don't know what he means exactly. Were those his precise words ?"

She looked at the message and read it out loud 'Captured by giant intel insect hive. Not sure where but looking to free others. If u find, this man was exp on. Rory'.  Susan, Allura and I all got it at the same time today.  Just before I called you actually.  Listen, tell us what books you need from your library and we'll get them for you. Im still on the access list, right?  I shouldn't have any problems getting in and out with them."

Jeremy nodded, "Folklore of the Miskatonic region, The accounts of Mr. Akeley, and a book simply entitled The Migou."

"Maybe he meant experimented on ? Did you find this message with a man ?"

She typed the titles in her phone and nodded frowning.  "I thought that too.  Somebody has Rory's phone, so obviously he's all right if he was able to get a message out. We'll find him Professor.  Dont worry."

Jeremy leaned back, "I just hope it is not what I am thinking.  Thank you Zoey."

"What are you thinking,  Jeremy?"

Jeremy looks to Zoey, "There is a race known as the Migou they appear to some people like insects but they are not. I only remember bits and pieces thats why I want those books. I do know though they are fond of experimentation and surgery on other life forms."

She lets out a sigh and nods, "All right.  We'll get those books for you soon then.  Um, what did you tell the police?"

Jeremy, "That I was attacked most likely by someone wishing to gain access to the private books in the library. I gave the description of my attackers which was sadly very nondescript. Men dressed all in black, with black sunglasses and hats."

"It sounds like you described a bunch of Guardians.  They attacked you at the library?  Hm, I wonder if that's what happened at the school yesterday too?  I didnt get the details of what happened, but the librarian was attacked at the school yesterday."

Zoey stood and kissed Jeremy's forehead again and smiled at him, "Get some rest.  Allura and I will go get what you need and be back.  If we hear anything else, we'll let you know.  Is there anyone else you can think of Jeremy that may be able to help us find Rory?"

"Hey those were the creeps that tied me and Susan up. If it's them they deserve payback."

Zoey nodded "I agree. All right lets get going then. Jeremy,  call us if you need anything. "

Jeremy was a little startled, "No girls the Guardians are a force of good in the world. They deal with the kind of things I am sad to say  you have all had to face. They were sent to help against that demon at the casino. As soon as I get those books I will be able to tell you more.  If any more messages come from Rory let me know."

In reply to Watchtower (msg # 20):

"What force of good ties up teenage girls to steaks?  We can debate that subject later though.   Ready allura?"

"Yep I am ready Miskatonic Secret library here we come. I still don't see how books will help Rory but I really don't have a better idea."

Zoey leaves with Allura for the library.
