Re: Anybody seen Korak? Oh, there you are...

Oh, I've found my way into the game.  I'd like for some ensorcelled beat-tools to find their ways into our hands so we can help them find their business end's wats into the haunches of the monsters plaguing Gilgamar.  Well, it'd be incidental heroism on Agelia's part, but yes.

Re: Anybody seen Korak? Oh, there you are...

@Agelia - Glad you picked up on that, and nice use of your daily spell. Acting on that hunch may prove valuable over time...

@Everyone - Ok, I just scoured the BFRPG rulebook for a crit table or rules for crits or what the heck to do when someone rolls a natural 20, and ya know what??? I found nothing. It simply says, "...and a 20 is always a hit..."

I remind everyone that this game system (and the one it's based on that I played over two decades ago) isn't my mostest favorite and while I do like most of it, I feel a houserule coming on...

Let me introduce:

HR2013-1  A Proposal to House Rule Critical Hits (Natural 20's)

Crits will inflict maximum weapon damage PLUS the Strength or Dexterity Bonus depending on if it's a melee or ranged attack.

Discussion?

Edit:  I found this linked from the BFRPG page...

I like that House Rule.

Also, never depend on Agelia to make a ranged attack, guys, just saying.   :(

Super swamped right now, I'll post as soon as I'm able. Expect slight delays, or at least don't be panicked by them right now.

This must be "Drop-out-of-game" Season.  Four of the games I participate in have folded in the last two weeks.  That's why I'm so panicky lately. You are all great. I don't want to lose any of you!  Be sure to let me know if you find yourself stuck, or bored, or uninspired. I have solutions for those problems... Actually one solution, but it works reeealy well! ;-)

Yet more OOC...

So my young nephew informs me last night that "Fluffy" was the name of the three-headed dog in Harry Potter.  Now he knows nothing of this game, but after having that brought to my attention I just wanted to remind everyone that I'm not copying Harry P. in any way. And the naming of the boar-like aberration "Fluffy" was entirely arbitrary. It's been years since I read Harry P. Anyways, my critter has two dog-heads and a totally awesome snake-headed tail. Take that J.K. Rowling! ;-)

Hope I didn't overwhelm anyone with that last post. I've had some ideas in my brain just bursting to get out, so I'm mind-dumping them from time to time. Feel free to do the same. If any of you come up with an idea or anything you'd like to see happen in the game, feel free to post it here or drop me a PM... I'm not above an honest bribe. ;-)

Re: Yet more OOC...

I'll give Durgon another day or so before I NPC his action for this round. The rest of you can post your actions sooner if you find the inspiration.  Again, not being pushy, just trying to keep the game moving along.  If'n ya'll want me to relax a little, let me know, but I personally want to keep things moving whenever I have the time, which for me comes little bit by little bit here and there.  Anywho, I totally understand if folks are busy and if I get a chance I'll advance the story if it's been a few days without any activity. I'll try not to get your chars dead... at least not too much. ;-)

Huh!  I forgot all about Fluffy... Was thinking about those jellybeans, though.

EDIT: D'awww, see, Agelia, use a portrait of Polina in your character sheet, and you get called beautiful!

Re: Yet more OOC...

I'm s-l-a-m-m-e-d with moving and working right now, but I really really really don't want this game to lose momentum, so here I am in the wee hours. I see that most of you have logged in in the last day or two. Feel free to jump in, this is your story just as much as mine. We're getting to the climax of this scene wherein the characters are consumed by yet another aberration disguised as a pile of rocks they are hiding under.  Uh oh, did I just reveal that? Doh! I must be tired. ;-)

Oh and Agelia, if anyone survives this and tales are ever sung in fancy halls, I really hope some gnomish bard sings of Taiiemnian's cleric and her fight against the 'Swineagator'!

I'm going as quickly as I can everyone, please bear with me. My internet must be changed over sometime in the next week or two, so there may be some glitch. I will try to post with my stupid smatrphone, but it's stupid, so don't expect much.  Again, please bear with me and I'll make it up on the back side.

I'm very sorry for the delays. I'm coming back soon, I promise. Moving sucks and this one sucks more than usual because I'm still working on the house we're moving into!  Please hang with me a little longer and I'll be back with a vengeance! Muahahahaha!

Re: Yet more OOC...

One more update...

I'm about to unplug my computer and move it to my new house. I won't have web access there for at least a week. I can check the game from my stupid smatrphone, but as you all already know, it's stupid and I refuse to attempt posting from it. So on Monday I'll try to get to my office and check the game.

I haven't finished my last post yet, but I can retro and fit it in. Please continue on with the new Round! Players are up!

Also, we have a Lurker... a Hunter of the legendary Grue. When we come up with a char it will be added!

Still no internet at home and it's snowing tons! I'll post whenever Santa and his elves hitch me a ride into town... ;-)

At any rate, give me a pulse check if you are still around and still interested in the game. (That way I know who I can kill off... ;-) j/k sort of...) I'm also open for suggestions and criticism.

Again, I apologize for dumping this game in the slump with my moving, but hopefully we can all see the light at the end of the tunnel as new life is coming into play.

Thanks again for your patience!

Re: Yet more OOC...

Hey gang,
I'm hoping that Korak and Durgon will get back to me before Monday, if not, I'll NPC them as we add our new character in the upcoming Chapter, and begin to look for replacements.  Both have RL stuff going on, so we all might keep them in our prayers if you're so inclined.

The makeup of our party is rather interesting, considering we're the Remnants. Two clerics, a fighter, a barbarian and a ranger... our new char will likely be a fighter. That makes us light on magic and the erm... extra-legal department.  I'm considering tweaking Bodric to use the 'Thug' optional class, partly to round out the party, but partly to give some feedback to the BFRPG devs on how the class plays.  Is that ok with all of you?  In case you don't know, it is a cross between fighter and thief, but subtly different from a fighter/thief dual-class. Anyways, let me know your thoughts. I'd like to keep Bodric in the game, especially if Princess... erm... Korak comes back!

This new Chapter (2) will be a short underground crawl leading into a series of other short adventures that will ultimately lead into a gnarly campaign. I'm hoping that by this time next year we'll be into that, which is where I've wanted to get this game since we became the Remnants.

Give me your thoughts if you find the time, feedback is very helpful to me.

Thanks!

Re: Yet more OOC...

Greetings, friends!

Grue Hunter's the name, and I have been invited by your kind Usher to partake in your grand adventure. 'Tis a pity, indeed, that we don't have a "burgler" amongst us; for myself, I will be playing an honest man of the sword. The character is still in development, and I will hopefully be ready and able to join you folks by this Sunday at latest.

For now, as per Usher's request, here are my roles:

04:17, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 11 using 3d6 with rolls of 5,2,4.
04:17, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 5,1,3.
04:17, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 12 using 3d6 with rolls of 3,4,5.
04:17, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 14 using 3d6 with rolls of 6,2,6.
04:17, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 4 using 3d6 with rolls of 2,1,1.
04:16, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 2,3,4.
04:14, Today: Lurker 1 rolled 11 using 3d6 with rolls of 3,2,6. stats.

That's:
11, 9, 12, 14, 4, 9, 11

[NOTE: I see I unthinkingly rolled 7 stats rather than six, so we can ignore that last 11]

Not terribly awful--except for that 4 :-(

My allotment:

Strength: 11
Dexterity: 9
Constitution: 4 [-2]
Intelligence: 14 [+1]
Wisdom: 12
Charisma: 9

So it looks like I'm at -1 with total bonuses. Maybe, since I already rolled an extra 11, we can use that to replace the 4 instead of re-rolling everything (it's up to you, Usher--I sort of like the idea of playing a warrior with a poor constitution, a sickly fighter).

I'll await your feedback on the stats before I continue with the rest.

Welcome!

It's up to you. Toss the 4 or try your luck with a reroll. The rest of us all have a net +1, so I think thats fair...
