October Monster Madness

It's October! Anyone who engages in a Monster Match (Battle Royal) this month will be awarded:
  • 100 BP and +1 hero point for a loss (or if you referee and are actually make yourself useful by GM discretion).
  • 200 BP and +1 hero point for a runner-up (draw).
  • 300 BP and +2 hero points for a win.
These rewards are set, regardless of your character's BP. Half these rewards for a Monster Match (Duel).

You can't spend hero points in a Monster Match.

You do not have to reveal the monster(s) you've chosen until your 1st combat post but you DO have to reveal their CR, number of them, creature type and whether they are ethereal, incorporeal, have an immunity or have abilities that can make them ethereal or incorporeal or immune during the challenge. You MUST to have ALL of the monsters' types, CRs and incorporeality/ethereality/immunities listed in the initial challenge before anyone accepts. You don't have to list immunities that are already part of the creature type, as that would be redundant.

Remember, if someone in the match is in your guild, you can't referee for them unless ALL the combatants are also in your guild.

Matches must begin in October and end by November 5th to qualify.

Suggested Extras:

GRAVEYARD MODE:
Every creature killed/destroyed rises again 1d4+1 rounds later at half their normal full HP. Creatures cannot rise a second time. Once a lone victor/team remains, creatures stop respawning and the match is over. Creatures may respawn where they died (prone and getting back up as if they'd been unconscious) or they may respawn in their original starting location (their choice) or as close to one of these spots as possible (in case they're occupied at the time). Any and all afflictions they had before they died are removed upon death and any buffs they had still expend their duration while they're "dead", though they remain in effect.

MONEY MODE:
Every creature gets an amount of gold-worth of gear equal to an NPC's wealth if the NPC's CR were equal to it's CR. If it already has gear, spend this gold to upgrade and/or add more gear. You must post ALL of your gear PUBLICLY during your initiative post.

LIVES MODE:
Everyone gets 3 monsters but only 1 is in the arena at a time. As a standard action, a monster can "swap" with one of the player's benched monsters and teleport out of the arena while another monster teleports in to an unoccupied space that is not threatened by an enemy (your choice). Swapping in/out is a standard action so a creature that swaps in cannot take any actions their first round but continue on the previous creature's initiative.

October Monster Madness

Are these awards for our first Monster Match, each Monster Match, or for our best match result in the month?
