Re: OOC Discussion 5

Yeah, we'd appreciate your being our ref Grunyar. Thanks! I'm fine with it. Hopefully we won't throw anything too complicated at you.

Also, Ario, should we repost the challenge with Grunyar as our ref? Or is this confirmation enough?

It's been 48 and the last is invalid, so we should probably repost.  I'll have it up in a second.

Lekol.  After your sandman dies to Opals sandman, do you want to 1v1 a small Colosseum? :)

Re: OOC Discussion 5

Sure but I'd like to try and get with GM about my RTJ PM getting replaced I would like an official line to GM.  I really disagree with a call and would like a chance to make my case even if nothing changes at least I know my side was heard and I did not just roll over on a call I feel was bad that really hurt my character progression.

In reply to Lekol (msg # 926):

'Thems the breaks.'

Speaking of which, does anybody else want to fight once our match gets closed out? Or Ario we could have our rematch now or sometime in the future once we've progressed.

FAQ link for the guild master game:

http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9qe9

(The bludgeoning damage would be reduced by DR if the DR isn't explicitly bypassed by bludgeoning damage.)

Re: OOC Discussion 5

GM is there any way to help lighten your load but still be able to compete?

I was thinking (I know thats scary) would it help if I took over Challenge thread: by starting match threads, closing out finished matches, and start a new thread that has everyones BP (match numbers and math in a private line to GM) & hero points (in a private line to player) in a table I would maintane so that I am not looking at charracter sheets allow the players to edit that line on thier sheets but it must match the table no oops I fudged a number stiff penalty for "cheating" on purpose or not.

I was also wondering what your thoughts where on having a Guild "secretary" who would be responsible for doing the fact checking on ONLY fellow Guild members charracter sheets that way they are still able to compete against other Guilds it would require all alternate  personalities of that person to be in the Guild.  As for the unguilded one voluntier would do theirs.

Theese are just a couple thoughts I had to help spread some of the work but still allow people to compete which is why we are all here :-)

Re: OOC Discussion 5

Only way to fact check is to see character sheets, which would never work for someone competing.

You may instead require combatants to PM character sheets to the REFEREE in the INITIATIVE POST and referee can copy and paste them somewhere to make sure they weren't tampered with during the match.

That and full GMship are the only possible ways to avoid bias (and even then, it's not really avoiding it as much as reducing it to acceptably low levels).

Re: OOC Discussion 5

Actually, the PM of sheet to the ref would make sense, even without copy-paste.  If you edit the initiative post, you forfeit and take a 5% bp penalty.  This is also practical because what's on a character sheet under details doesn't matter with free rebuilds of everything but gladiator type - only the sheet that's in the initiative post matters.

That actually gives me an idea - Arkrim could open 5 new threads: A BP thread, and 4 arenas.  The BP thread only gets bp changes from matches, posted by the ref of the match.  The ref would also post in the challenge thread telling each group what arena thread to use.  The ref would be the first post (setting it up) and last post (letting everyone know that it's over and someone else can use the arena) in each fight.

That way, Arkrim only has to make bp mods as able, and just from that one thread with all the information put there for him already.  He'd only ever need to open or close threads when one of the arenas hits the max post count (or nears it).

Re: OOC Discussion 5

I agree with you a side thread with everyones BP so referees or a designated person could keep it up.

I do not like just having a couple threads with all the battles it makes it hard to find info that is in one.

DEMO MATCH:  Ario vs his shadow

Good call... instead of thread titles for matches, we could have the ref change the subject each time a new match starts, to keep things searchable.  That way instead of going through pages of threads, you could just open the 4 match threads, tell it to display all posts, and use ctrl-f.

If we don't do a bypass on opening and closing threads, it doesn't save Arkrim much of anything.  :-\

Re: OOC Discussion 5

Is the only person able to open or close threads GMs or are you able to give that permission without the ability to see charracter sheets? (I've never ran a game know nothing about the permission options available)

We don't celebrate thanksgiving over here, but I roasted a Turgooducken for my birthday last Saturday, and it was delicious. Still working on the leftovers, though...

Hey, Brakt and I are about to beat each others face's in and per Arkrim's post on the previous page of the OOC, we need a third party ref to watch over us as we destroy one another. Any volunteers?

Oh right, whoops. You're not allowed to referee for guildmates.
