Seeing his teammate struck does not deter the group of Hydra agents.  "Get her!" the next one hollers, moving in on the feline Avenger as if her being in the middle of their circle would give them any advantage.  He turns his side-arm around to use it as a club (as Hydra knows teaches a unit on preventing firing into a circle made up of your teammates) and brings it down on the hero, hoping for luck.

With the raging chaos in the building, Iron Man's radio systems cannot even detect if there is a floating platform, much less take it over.  He might as well being trying to take over the explosions, flames, and swirling disaster all around him.

Re: The Amazing Avengers #1: "...By the Dawn's Evil Glare"

Samuel Jans is no fool.  There is chaos everywhere but if he can stay focused than perhaps he can pull a victory from this disaster.  If this arm of the great Hydra army is trapped in here, at least so too are these blasted heroes, and they all function under the same rules of this pandemonium.  If he could use this situation to finally remove a hero as a threat he could stand out as the one to rescue if options for that are limited and, even better, he could rise through the Hydra ranks at a greater speed.  His fellow agents might running around like frightened fools but he recalls his training in keeping concentration in stressful situations, this one being greater than even they were told to expect.  But he redoubles his focus, relying on muscle-memory, and raises his rifle, putting the catastrophe surrounding him out of his mind and looking through the rifle's scope, placing in his cross-hairs the Avenger who has been motionless in the air above the fray.  "Hail... Hydra..." he whispers as he slowly squeezes the trigger.

An explosion rocks one end of the catwalk, then the other, separating it from the wall and ending hope of escaping from it. The Hydra agents on it, seeing no other option for action in their panic, fire their weapons in the air, emptying full clips in no particular direction, hoping that perhaps they can shoot their way out -- though the question is from where, since there is clearly no escape from this chaos.  They scream while they fire, knowing the remainder of their lives will soon be measured not in years or months or minutes, but in seconds.

Black Widow jumps to her feet and automatically drops into a fighting stance, feet spread, fists to her face.  She stands across from the Constrictor, the two squaring off against each other but neither making a move, not even necessarily looking like they will, but cautiously waiting to see what the other will do.  She glances backward then back to the villain.  "What's our play here, Marvel?"

Tigra sees the Hydra goon coming from a mile away, his clumsy swing revealing his inexperience lack of practice in close combat. She sees his arm swinging with the butt of his cumbersome weapon, and Greer slides effortlessly around the goon's attack, raking her claws savagely into the Hydra agent's side.

After she hacked away at the punk in the green suit, Tigra growled, "Good on ya, She-Hulk. I have these lightweights!"

You could have added the Hydra Guard C's physical stress to your dice pool

Hydra Guard C takes d10 physical damage

The attacking --  now defending -- Hydra goon spins away and cries in pain as the next guard falls in to pull the same move, focusing his assault as he's been trained but more hoping that the same fate -- and agony -- won't befall him. Though blood from the earlier attack falls into his eyes, he still brings his weapon down, hopefully in the general direction of the feline hero. "Hail --" he grunts, cut off by the force of his own violent effort.

Black Widow's deft feint helps Capt. Marvel's attack connect, as she plows through the Constrictor's barrier of electrified coils, now forced aside.  His defense minimizes the attack but still the robot arm that Marvel wields bonks him solidly in the head.  He brings his forearms in front of his face, expecting more but he does not offer his own attack.  "What are you doing?  There's worse happening here than I could do.  I'm not in on this -- I didn't know this was going to happen.  I'm in this with you!  You gotta save us!"  He lowers his arms slightly so his pleading face can be apparent to the heroes.  "Don't worry about me -- be a hero and save us!"

Still that robot head chatters on the floor: "NO ESCAPE. NO ESCAPE. NO ESCAPE. NO ESCAPE. NO ESCAPE."  With the deafening destruction imploding the structure around everyone trapped within, it becomes clear that there will be no quick escape.

Samuel Jans looks up from his scope as Iron Man's head recoils from the rifle's blast. It... hit... he... This hero is... mortal?  He can be hurt.  The Hydra agent shakes the sudden confusion from his mind and looks around.  Pandemonium is erupting from all sides, the whole place is on the verge of collapsing in flames, and his compatriots are disregarding their hard-fought training, but if everyone here is going to die this night then he will take a hero with him.  Jans smiles to himself and readies his rifle again.  He smiles to himself, knowing his direction is clear.  Though there is no reason why Iron Man would know his name.  "Hail Hydra!" he yells, though it is lost among the increasing noise around him.

Zola, crawling from the blob's body, with chunks of the things attached to him, trudges to the far side of the room, near where he was originally, and furiously pushes buttons and turns knobs on the equipment which is exploding and, for some of it, on fire. The perilous state of the machinery and the room seem to mean nothing to the scientist, as he appears intent on overloading any equipment that has not already been destroyed in the alarm. At first, with his back to the rest of the room, he flails with seemingly no direction to what he is doing, creating as much chaos as possible, but his motions seem to slow as the chaos around him and the Panther in this room only increases.

Where the floor of the building's gigantic training room was a sea of neat rows of lined Hydra soldiers when the heroes entered, it is now a horrific sea of those same bodies, now panicking and terrorized with no way out as the place falls apart under gut-shaking explosions, ready to either implode or explode at any moment. The hole that Hercules created provides little use as the walls around it cave in, impaling the first few soldiers who attempted to use it for escape, then its mouth quickly becoming a bottleneck as those agents tried to use it to leave. Escape from here would be only a miracle. The shrieks of the alarm -- WHEEEK! WHEEEK! WHEEEK! -- are mixed with the sounds of the destruction as it happens -- Ker-BLAMCK! ShhhPLAM! Korrr-BLAXSH! -- all combined with the screams of the soldiers whose very lives hang in the balance. "AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Hercules, who once stood against the mountains of these henchmen just moments ago, now finds himself overcome by them, the ocean of them rolling over him, covering him in terrified bodies, like ants on a melting popsicle left in the sun. They are too concerned for their own lives to strike at him but their blanket of bodies suffocates him more effectively than any attack they could devise. The god is positively buried, taken over not by individual might but by sheer numbers in the mind-numbing chaos.

Capt. Marvel drops the robot arm and rises to her feet. She cradles her ribs, feeling them move in detached pieces under her chest. She breathes in, pain shooting through every nerve in her body, but steadies herself. Black Widow, now with a relaxed stand as her enemy admitted no intention of harm, looks back to her and the heroes' eyes meet. "You take care of them," Marvel mutters, the sound of her voice strong enough to rise just barely above the immense din around this group. They both glance around themselves, to appraise their surroundings just before falling into action. Marvel looks up at the ceiling as it bows and splinters inward, ready to collapse its tons of metal roof upon them. "I'll get us out of here," her voice comes, this time not rising above the noise, and ending in a personal whisper. "I hope."

He does nothing but jump as each metal piece falls from the ceiling and the keyboards and monitors around him pop in tiny and bigger explosions, he becomes relaxed as he looks to the heroes, his saviors. His face is pleading, waiting for them to do something to save him.

Black Widow looks at him, then his hands, then back to his pathetic face. Her eyes narrow first in disgust then with an idea. "Right now we need what your brought more than we need you." In less than the space of an instant her relaxed posture drops into an explosive coil for a roundhouse kick that connects her foot with the villain's face.
