For here is where we meet and here is where we start
The Faded Flame is an old established, a three story inn built of large field stone and covered in a faded red plaster. The sign over the main entrance was made from wrought iron and is a large circle with the outline of a fire set in the middle off to the right. From outside it looks welcoming, grand even if the the out side has seen some weathering. It is located between the Tri Arcanum and Lake Hurst where you are to be in a day and a half.
As you enter the tavern through the heavily used, metal door, you're welcomed by a feeling of comfort and the smile of a passing waitress who directs you to take any table you please. Things are just getting going for the day and someone will be with you shortly.
A Dwarven bartender is engaged in a conversation with a small group of Green Men, but still manages to give you a polite wave.
Large wooden beams and finely crafted stone pillars support the upper floor with decorative lights attached to them. The walls are swarmed with flags and banners of all sorts and sizes. Some are from nearby towns or provinces, others from the far corners of the world and some are clearly from monster races.
The tavern itself is mildly busy as lunch is approaching. Soldiers seem to be the primary clientele here, which could be seen as a bad sign, though you're sure it's not. Several long tables are occupied by several smaller groups of local people. The other, smaller tables are also occupied by people who seem to be close with the owner, though they happily welcome others among their midst. Some of the stools at the bar are occupied, though nobody seems to mind more company and would probably welcome the company over lunch.
You have hear rumors of this tavern in your travels, supposedly it's famous for something, but you can't remember what for. Though judging by the soft laughter, cheering and overall enjoyment of everybody, it's probably the people themselves who make this tavern famous. You manage to find a seat and prepare for the day and for what will undoubtedly be a relaxing evening after a long journey.
