You were let go from the MIB and left to your own devices. The group headed back to the smaller boat (used to ferry the group to and from the big boat). There, Argentus met a familiar face.

 Ralph was waiting for them there.

Argentus was very surprised to see Ralph.  "Is everything okay with Henry, Jacob, and the pack?" He asked.  Then he realized that for him it had been just a few days since their last contact and seeing the pack, but the actual gap with Ralph would have included the three months they were missing.  "And what on earth have you been up to for the past months?"

Right, so Argy knew the rainbow Norseman. That was a blessing through and through. "Right, Grey is working on getting the boat ready for everything coming our way." He bowed to the group. "Sorry for that screw up. I have to use speakerphone when not using a drone and I didn't turn it off."

He looked at Prom "Sorry for the hookup but a quantum computer like her with synth tech is super rare. As a side note, if you are willing at some point we can give the young lady currently in braindance all her memories back but you would have to be willing to be the adapter. We will go over it at your leisure."

He nodded once, "Sorry for talking so fast but I am about to go offline. Currently swimming up from someplace down in the ocean and I don't want to piss off the coast guard." He clapped with a wide smile, "Went to check on Talion while we had been out. I regret it physically but emotionally there was a huge amount of progress."

He looked to the Norseman. "Hi, Im Noah, who are you?"

“I do not like being made to rely upon these Men in Black.  It is in their interest to work with us now to fend off une apocalypse, but afterwards who can say?  Perhaps we will be deemed trop dangereux to go free.”  Mistral’s jaw worked as they approached the docks, but she conceded with a sigh, “For the children we make such strange alliances.  We deal with the fallout once they are safe.”

By the smaller boat the others had used to come ashore awaited a fellow with colorful hair and in need of a shave, and it appeared that Argentus was acquainted with him.  One of his wolf friends, judging by the wording of his greeting.  Mistral remained at the edge of the group, hooded and oddly hard to pin down.  One’s eyes tended to slide right off her without recognition of any notable presence.  A French-accented woman’s voice emerged from the shadowed hood and said, “Bonsoir, Monsieur.  I like the hair.  To what do we owe the pleasure?”  She did not give a name.

Mistral glanced at the small boat with distaste and said definitively, “We haven’t the time for a boat ride.”  She glanced to Ralph and then asked the group pointedly, “Does this one accompany us?”

Answering Minstral first, he said, "I wouldn't trust them half as far as I can throw them, but they know they can't just round up everyone and lock them all up. And gratitude at saving the world has to count for something."

He pointed at Noah, "As long as they don't see actual Noah we should be fine. They probably won't accept a Dragon wondering free."

At Naoh's comment, he offered a smile to the man, "Nah mate. I mean I expected you to want me to hack her, but I can adapt. Besides, she is honestly fascinating, and I am sure you knew that. And I suspect, if she doesn't have a robot form like I think she doesn't she is almost certainly lonely. And probably bored."

He looks at Arentus and sighs..something Ralph has been doing alot of lately, every time he thinks of he pack and what happened, of how things went from bad to worse to impossible..and his eyes glaze over for a moment, again, something they've been doing alot of lately, this for reasons entirely different..the wrong things ingested, explored..too much time in places he shouldn't even be..trying to hold it all together..to put back together the pieces..to make the battle into a war they stand a chance in..

"Where to begin, argentus..the short tale is frightening..the long is the thing of nightmares..we lost so much..so many..I haven't even had the chance to howl for them.."

His voice trails of for a moment..

"And what of you? how are you faring in this landscape of disgusting filth we are stuck in?"

He hears himself talk and can tell he's changed more than he'd realized even in such a simple conversation..

"See you on the boat then." Noah turned to Mistral and started following her. It was clear that Noah had disconnected to anyone who knew what he was about. There was, however, a deep grumbling on the earbud system that indicated Noah was likely well but laid out on the boat.

This new fellow seemed troubled and laconic, which was not a reassuring thing in a werewolf acquaintance.  She could hardly blame him.  Even she who had lived at the fringes of society and avoided bonds had suffered loss in the downfall of civilization.  It seemed that this fellow and Argentus needed to talk, so perhaps introductions would have to wait.

In the meantime there was work to be done, so without further discussion Mistral said, "Allons-y."  She set off striding towards the wharf's edge, making broad circular gestures and muttering unintelligible words of supernal power as she went.  Just at the moment it seemed she'd step off the wharf and into the water, a large circular portal limned in supernal mists opened before her, and she stepped into it without a break in her stride.

Mistral vanished beyond the portal's hazy veil, but it remained open after her.

RoboNoah, on autopilot, followed right after.

Now that I think about it, I think Ralph is waiting for Argy. Sooo...

Real Noah was laying out on the deck of the boat sizzling. He had wings out, belly flat, just trying to cool down. He had even woven a mana reflective material into his scales and it had slagged just by the volume of Talion's Mana storm. He was alive and would be fine, but he was far from happy.

"Sounds rather similar to us.  Been to literal hell and back, then to figurative hell and back."  Argentus commented to Ralph.  "We'll have to share stories sometime, Ralph.  But as for right now, we're on a mission to save a bunch of kids who were abducted by monsters.  Hopefully doing it today will give you-know-who a free hand to blunt the storm coming in tomorrow.  You in?"

Sal followed through the portal. He wondered who this newcomer was, then remembered Argentus had mentioned Ralph before. He hoped the lupine was more stable than it appeared. He could think of only one reason why he would show up here alone... As hard as kindred take losing their families and friends, lupines take it far worse.

He looks at his friend..in a way thru his friend..to all he's been thru..

Time seems to stand still, to stretch, until his gaze comes back to the here and now, and what passes for a smile comes to Ralph's lips..

"We'll share..one night when the moon is full and the winds howl..we'll tell stories..am I in..you bet..lead on.."

"Fair enough.  This way.  He said, as he stepped into the portal.

He nods..getting up and following his friend..his heart so heavy, his spirit weary..the portal barely registering as he passes thru it..
