Just as the clock turned to 0800 Deckar walked into the room. Taking a momenthe looked around, recognizing all in the room from his brief encounter with each. "Thank you all for being here this morning."  He was humored by that term, a left over when the Earth was on a day and night schedule, in space the term were arbitrary and traditional at best.

"I hope you all know each other.  I look forward in getting to know each of you as we journey together." He brushed his curly hair off to one side of his face as he continued, "First point of order is, I would like to congratulate Lt, Blatt on becoming Chief Engineer."  as his hand motioned towards the young Lieutenant.

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 3):

Bart's eyes widened a bit as all eyes were focused on him, "um, ah, thank you,  Its a great, um, honor.  I look forward in serving with everyone."  He was still in shock not sure if he needed to say anything else or not.

Deckar smiled, he too remembered being a young officer and being intimidated in each new position of prominence.

"Now then, to the first topic.  Lt. Keyes, the other day during the event, the ship veered off course.  I would like for you and Lt . Res work with Security to figure out why that was. Here are copies of the system logs before the computer was wiped." He hands a memory module to Lt. Keyes.

Vanna gives a polite round of applause for Bartolomy Blatt as the announcement is made by Geary.  Her attention focused on Geary still though, she wasn't entirely certain about what was going to be discussed at the meeting but she imagined it was either in relation to the mission or the recent system failures caused by the viral infection.  She was surprised to be brought up next but gave a polite nod as she took the module. "We already figured that out, Sir.  The virus, altered the course while displaying the proper data on our terminals.  How it knew to do that I don't know but then again, the virus seemed incredibly... intelligent for lack of better word."

Thani is both shocked by the news and unsure, "Congrats on the position Lt. Blatt." But it left a sinking pit in her stomach. Was yesterday's incident due to Catrina's failure or a misstep of her own department and she was held responsible? Cat had been incapacitated when she was brought in to help.

She waited to see what Lt. Cmdr. Geary would request of her.

"Yes, Lt. Keyes, we think that is what happened, we need to make sure." Addressing the rest of the room, "As you all know the virus attacked the ship and all systems were compromised. But assuming that every little glitch is attributed to the virus, would not be prudent.  If the virus affected all the systems at once, we would have stayed on course."  Turning his attention back to Lt. Keyes, "Which is why I would like for you and Lt Res to work with security to see when the course was changed in the logs.  Make sure it was the virus that caused it and nothing else."  Looking around the table, "I would suggest work with Lt. Davis or Specialist Walker to see if you can find that information."

In reply to Decker Geary (msg # 8):

"The second item is the preparation of the Quantum Torpedo, Commander sh'Elliaph, I need to you get Chief Blatt up to speed as to status of the Preparations and what else is needed."

Giving a nod to Decker, "Well, not much, just some specs for us to review and the tests we would like to conduct. We want to get as much data from the test explosions and believe a Faraday cage using shields would help eliminate as much background artifact as possible." She smiles at the new Chief, "I'm available all shift to go over the schematics with you chief."

OOC: Thani/Blatt can get sync'ed up off camera, if you prefer.  Same for Vanna/Tekar/Jason.  You all know the details of the mission already.

In reply to Your Loving GM (msg # 11):

"Unless there is anything else, we are dismissed." Addresing the room, "Also if you have any questions or concerns, I am available."  As he was collecting his padd, he addressed everyon again, "OH!, I meant about anything, not jsut waht we talked about here today."  Then he smiled at his faux paux before getting a cup of his Rigellian Coffee.

Thani will smile and nod. "I'll be in the science lab if you need to catch Chief Blatt." She says to Lt. Blatt as she collects her Padd and exits the room.
