"Yes sir!" Odilon called out as they approached. He then looked up to the tower to see if someone else was keeping a more discerning eye toward the horizon as this young man seemed tied up in his book.

You see another young man at the top of the tower. This one has his eyes set on your group, but he too has no weapon drawn.

Enialis gives a nod to the guardsmen,"Like my companion says, we are the patrol group. Now would you mind signing our scrolls, we don't got all day." he says pulling out his scroll to the young man.

"Of course." the young man says quite absentmindedly then takes your scrolls. He signs each one then hands them back as he looks back to his book. "Take care."

As you each receive your scrolls back you ready to head off once more. Everything went well until the next tower went out of sight. You feel the wind pick up. It grows harsh and bitter tugging and pulling at every loose object. It feels colder yet perhaps only because of the wind.

Please roll me a survival check everyone.

Enialis wasn't one to understand much of nature nor how to survive on her land. Thankfully he has a friendly spirit on his shoulder that'll guide him through the dangers of the wilderness.

Odi felt the wind bite straight through to the bone, he tugged his cloak around him tighter but felt his teeth begin to chatter.

As per usual Fayne moved silently along with the rest of the patrol not saying much of anything beyond the odd word or two and in the most brisk way possible it seemed. He passed his scroll out to be signed and accepted it back once it was, as he trudged along with the others through the snowy patrol route.

With another tower down Fayne pulled the hood of his cloak further down to ward against the wind that had started to kick up and sending a shill through the flesh and down to the bone. Fayne had been on such patrols before, but the aching cold had a way that could worm its way into even the hardiest, only time would tell if this was one of those colds that seeped down to the bone.

Thanks to the surprising skill of the party's wizard, the group is able to make it through this harsh blizzard at half speed. By the time the party has reached the familiar northwest tower two hours has passed. Charlie let's you up the tower to see Edmund for the signing of your scrolls. Then they send you on you way to the next tower with their well wishes.

"Well that went better then expected. Just a few more towers that need to be signed and the jobs done." Enialis says as the party head to the next tower,"Albeit, their was a random blizzard slowing us down, but we managed anyhow."

"In no small part due to your navigation skill friend" Odilon pointed out as they moved on to the next tower.

"Well you have my feathered partner to thank for that." Enialis says, looking at Fion. Fion responds by flapping her wings with pride."Celestial beings are often helpful creature's after all."

"Agreed" Odilon smiled at Enialis and his feathered partner before looking back along their path, "Only a few more signatures and then we can return to town."

Xannan rolled 7 using 1d8.  hit dice healing, short rest
Xannan rolled 20 using 1d20+1.  Xannan performance with flute

Xannan rested well during the short rest (earlier),
waking feeling invigorated and ready to continue travelling to the remaining towers.

He'd been rather quiet lately, even though he never said much anyway.

While the group travels Xannan plays a pleasant tune upon his flute.

As you each made it to the next tower, the northeast tower, Avra smiled and greeted you with a "Welcome back." Then sent you up the tower to the young guard Kyra to gather her signature. She was shy, but readily signed each scroll then nodded to you as you went on your way. Avra too waved as you left and wished you luck no doubt meaning luck with being safe on your journey around the posts and off you go on your way to the next tower.

Fayne was impressed with Enialis, he was proving to be a rather competent leader for this makeshift party that had gathered outside of the hall earlier that day. When the blizzard and cold hit, it had affected him more than he had realized, but thanks to their Elven friend they managed to steer the right course. Something even the hard to impress Fayne could recognize.

"Impressive...." Fayne said in a monosyllabic tone.

He gave him a slight nod as the scout turned to Avra, then accepted the signature from Kyra.

"Maybe our trip to the next post will be without incident" Odi said with optimism as they trekked on.

As the members of the party passed time talking as they walked it wasn't long before they made it to the next tower. The sun had already set and it was as Odilon had hoped. No incident had occurred. Again they were greeted by the familiar smiling face of the guards woman, Charlotte. She opened the door to the tower for you to go up to the other guard, Ruth who greets your group with a "Hiya". She signs your scrolls then sends you on your way with a cheery "Take care". And off to the final tower your group would go.

"Well look at that, one last tower to go and no eventful moments so far. That's a good sign and makes this job more easier." Enialis says after saying his goodbye to Charlotte and following the group to the next tower.

"Hyx has truly blessed us..." Odilon said, reverence heavy in his words. "...Outside of the wolves, and the storm, we've had it easy"

Fayne agreed with the others assessment; it had been a fairly easy patrol. But life had a way of getting the last laugh in situations like this especially when you verbally tempt it like Enialis and Odilon had just done. Fayne glanced at the others and held two fingers before his eyes and gestured to the wilderness around them. ”Stay sharp….” Two words in a row without hesitation, his speaking skills with the others seemed to be improving.

It wasn't long until you see start to see the final tower grow closer and closer until at last the time had come. You see the bookworm from before, Eric leaning against the tower just as he had before with his nose still in a book though this did seem to be a different book. He didn't even bother looking up this time and just gestured to the door for you to go up. When you go up the tower you are greeted by another young man with a crossbow, though this one not pointed at you. He smiles at your group and says, "Eh, he makes things too easy." no doubt referring to the other half of his duo. He signs your scrolls then wishes you well and sends you on your way back to Smith's Gambit back to Smith himself to collect your payment. Perhaps the next job you would take won't be so easy. ;P
