A few hours before dawn, you all meet at the appointed place. It is cold and dark, though braziers still burn just outside the walls, marking the way out. No stars, nor moon, nor sunrise can be seen in the sky.

"All right. What do you need me to do?" Tidelan asked Verbannt, the apparent leader of this mission, as he arrived with Spark from the Frosthide Inn.

Spark was dressed in his new outfit, covering most of his metal body, only the face revealing a smooth and near featureless visage that none the less was created to be a pleasant facade. His armour, while muffled somewhat by the clothing still made enough sound to signal that he was not made for sneaking around easily.

On his belt was strapped a mace, and slung across his shoulder was a light crossbow.

"Lead the way," he signalled his presence and deference to Verbannt as the leader of the expedition.

He was dressed in his rough travel leathers, with the heavy fur cloak about his shoulders that looks to have come from the hide of some massive mountain goat.  The goat's massive head was visible upon his left breast, minus the horns and eyes, or else it would be been far too easy to mistake the enormous grey pelt as that of a cave bear or dire wolf.   His eyes glowed golden in the pre-dawn light, overly large and reflective, and thick tufts of fur cover his darkened features.

"We follow the trail here."

He said, tracing a thick finger along the line between the camp and the outpost on the crudely drawn map he had acquired.

"When we get here, you stop."

He pointed to a point in the forest just before they were likely to encounter scouts or perimeter guards.

"You will make a camp, and then give me an hour.  I will circle around to the back of their camp here.  When the hour is passed, you will light a campfire.  The smoke will draw them to you.  Do not be in the camp, but find a place where you can keep eyes on it.  I know none of you are wise in stealthlore, so stay far enough back that you are in no risk of being found.  You do not need to get a good look at them, you will not be close enough.  With luck, the fire smoke will draw their attention and I will be able to move about their camp undetected.  If they find you, fight your way to freedom.  I will be back for you in three hours.  If I am not, return to the outpost and speak that I am dead."

He did not sound as if he feared it.

Tidelan nodded. "I understand."

His face pretty clearly showed that he was holding something back. He had an ability, and felt like adding that he could become a stealthy tiger, but he didn't want to disrupt the planning process, so he stayed quiet for now.

Tidelan was shifting his weight from leg to leg with a bit of anticipation...

Spark nodded in understanding as well. "That's fair." He gently tapped his shoulder with one gloved finger, the muted sound of metal dinged through. "If combat does happen at our camp, I am set up to withstand some of the attacks and I will try to attract attention to myself."


OOC: Spark has used Blessing of the Forge to imbue his armor, adding +1 to AC

"Good, we go quickly then."

And without further comment, the Bugbear set out into the snow.

Dorian has remained silent and nodded along. His own armor seems slightly bulging with his new cold resistant clothes underneath but he seems content.
As they walk Dorian moves up to Verbannt “You think one fire will be enough? To lure more out we might want to pretend to be a bigger party. Maybe two fires will force out more.”

Verbannt stared towards the horizon as he replied.

"If you want.  Just be far away when the war party comes.  They will be coming for blood, with one of theirs already dead by my bow."

Boneclaw listened to Verbannt's plan and nodded. He gave Spark a thumbs up too:"That's fair.".

Dorian nods with a grim smile. He remembers the spark in the air when riding towards the enemy, knowing that every breath you take could be your last and your companions might die before finishing their sentences. Still he remains rather stoic and silently falls a little behind Verbannt.

Let’s do it! I’d say we light two fires at the same time and stay 100ft away from it? I usually don’t count in feet so I’m not entirely sure if that’s enough.
