Sentinel nods, "The mage is powerful and knows it but strikes me as the clever type.  He's got to know we'll be comin' and we denied him the scythe so we're not all pushovers," an rub where Runt had struck and a twitch of the head before adding, "Best to assume they're prepared.  Watch for possessed and don't trust what you see at first since might be illusion or just good ol' fakery, don't know the extent of the Mage's powers."

"No flight, we'll be hoofin' it," he frowns looking down at the scythe, "Can't get this out of their reach easily.  If we can drop a couple of the possessed and I can separate the demons from them then it might mean we can steamroll over them."

He chuckles and shakes his head, "Well one can hope.  Anyone have a tactics they want to recommend before we head in?   Wraith you want to take point ahead invisible and scout for signs of activity or ambushes?  Ginormica you want to be our Ace in the Hole and stay small until the attack comes an' then go giant can-o-whoopass?" He looks to all for input, not just those named.

Also waiting to see what Wraith's senses find but cautions of illusion or a fake-out stand...

GM: does the book mention any other effects on the island besides the no-flight-zone?

Najewa asks "any chance someone can cobble together a fake scythe from what's onboard? If they see me carrying the Scythe they want so desperately, it might draw them out."

Malleable Man writhes as his form goes through another morph. The hatchet-faced man he manages has such a long, broad nose that he barely looks human. Malleable Man says, ruefully, "I've been trying, about all I can manage is a human shaped a little like a scythe. I don't think that would work."

Seeing the scene in the distance, Najewa says "I will attempt to destroy the altar, but I fear that landing and being on the island will pain me greatly if I take my spirit form. But with so many threats I have no choice." Najewa draws colored powders from her Medicine Bag and casts them around her as she prays to her Ancestors. In mere moments, the spectres of past warriors swirl around her and fill her with ghostly energy, swelling her muscles and strengthening her body. In a voice carrying the weight of the Navajo nation she adds "I am prepared. Sentinel, can you store that thing in another dimension? Otherwise, it might be best left in the van. No need to make it easy for them to retrieve."


OOC Is the Island sanctified? I suspect not, else the Demons would be writhing in pain.

The island is probably the opposite of sanctified.  It's inhabitants are demons.

The anti fly zone covers the whole island and even extends into the lake. It is a spell not a device to be seen.

I'm sure you can get enough rope to tie you off.

"How deep is the lake," Ginormica asks, "I could stay small or I could get big and ferry everyone over."

Listened to the others, he nodded. "I am not a very religious person but if there is a way to bless my ammo, I am sure that I could work on shredding the altar." Warhammer said, pulling out one of the ammo clips containing 20 mm rounds.

Sentinel peers toward the island, then regards the scythe, pondering the situation.

21:06, Today: Sentinel rolled 12 (with 3 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system.  Magesight, PER detect Magic, 13-.
- can he see the edge of the spell?  any holes?  any other signs of magic nearby?

OOC: Have a proposed power to GM for a small dimensional vault that he can use to store things (extra-dimensional movement only for item he's holding + stretching with transdimensional + transdimensional for sight,  all to a specific little pocket dimension).  Hopefully didn't over-think that; figure it could be handy to stash things and pull them out later

BUT any thoughts how we're getting across the water?  I like Ginormica's suggestion

The lake varies in depth.  Around the island is the deepest water at up to 50 feet deep.

Sentinel,  you are at the shore far from the island.  The minus for distance on your detect would be daunting.   So, you don’t detect anything useful.

Once the depth of the lake is known Ginormica stated, "I can easily go through that, as long as you stay on my shoulders you should be fine. Though once I grow they might can see me, but that seems our only path forward, what do you think?"

OOC: At full height I'm 26 meters tall, which is slightly more than 85 feet.

Is there anything below ground?
Also is the flight/swimming drain invisible?

Is it possible to dam up the outflow of the lake?(flood the island)
or the inflow to the lake (and we walk across)
