You don't see anything other than the large (and heavy looking) trapdoor the thugs were trying to open.

The stairs did appear to be old, perhaps it was an old bootlegger's tunnel. The sonar indicated there were many possible branching paths.

The tunnels led down many twists and turns, you passed by a few fragments of old bottles and barrels before coming to another set of stairs.

With some work the door was cut open with a heavy crate walling down the stairs.

(OOC: Reflex save to avoid it at DC !5. If you fail, make a toughness save vs DC 17)
