[Quest] Counting Coup

As you watch the creature pass you by you notice the tracks it is leaving are familiar to you. You had seen similar ones after you had awoken from your first night on this journey. Whether this be the same one as before you could not tell. All you can tell is that creatures of all types inhabited the Rimewood and this would most likely not be the last you see.

[Quest] Counting Coup

Once the creature has passed, and he's waited awhile to be certain that neither it returned, nor any others came, Brohm resumed his Stealthy mapping, after finishing his respectful examination of the shrine.  Mentally noting the tracks.  His sense were on high alert now, but he was determined to pursue his course.  He had set out to prove a point, and damned if he was going to turn back now.

[Quest] Counting Coup

You successfully avoid the encounter with this creature. You get 225xp.
You watch to be sure the creature has left. After waiting a while you are sure that the creature is gone and you start preparing to leave this place yourself. You still have much to explore. You find yourself back on your way the day seeming to finally start to stay peaceful for a while. You eventually make it to a hill you've been seeing off in the distance. You take notice that there are no trees in this area just the snow covered rocks far bigger than you are and a cave.

[Quest] Counting Coup

Brohm carefully scouts the area, searching for tracks, and other signs of anything that might live in the cave, or the rocks being other than just rocks.  His senses are on high alert, as the crisp air wafts a gentle breeze around the hill.

[Quest] Counting Coup

The sky was starting to get dark as the sun started to slowly reach for the ground. As you search around you find nothing. No signs of tracks, no signs other animals, and nothing to indicate that anything is around here other than the rocks and the cave.

Is there any other secure, and concealed spot to make camp near by?

There are plenty of secure spots among the rocks, but the cave would be the easiest to secure.

[Quest] Counting Coup

With a prolonged huff, Brohm heads cautiously to the cave.  Careful to remain as hidden as possible, and coming from the back of the cave entrance to avoid being seen by anyone that might be inside the cave.  Damned things.. He thinks to himself.  Had to set back the whole day.  And NOW I have to camp in a cave I haven't had chance to explore.. He mentally grumbles, as he moves with alert sense to the caves opening.  Coming from behind and to the side of the opening, he cautiously looks in.

As you peer into the cave you look for any signs of movement or life and just as you think you've checked everything, there, out of the corner of your eye you spot some slight movement. Something with fur seems to be hiding toward the back of the cave.

About how far away is the back of the cave?  Also, what's the lighting like there?

The cave is about 50ft deep and 20ft tall. The fur you see is about 40ft from you. There is no light within the cave so it'd be dim light for you.

You can't see much of it right now, all you can see of it is its fur and yes it is moving.

Brohm moved quietly into the cave, his senses sharp to danger.  He moves along the wall opposite the moving fur creature, attempting to get a better look at it.

As you move along the cave cautiously the fur you see continues to move, but as you get closer you see the fur move enough to reveal it's size. It looks to be large now standing about 9ft tall. You still cannot make out its front features.

You look around for any signs of what could determine what this creature is, but all you find is bones stripped of any meat or pelt. The bones look to be from the carcass of a dead dear-like creature, but much larger. The carcass just like the bones are picked dry. Whatever this creature is, it was an easy guess that it was a carnivore of some type.

Brohm continues to circle carefully, stealthily around.  Making certain to not put the creature between himself and the cave mouth, and to remain undetected and far away from it.  Striving one last time to get some form of identification on it.
