That was great. Loved the porn guitar line.

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

I'm learning about Speedball as we go. All I really walked into this game knowing about him was that a) Doreen was silly about him, and b) Penance is too deep for her now.

In reply to Squirrel Girl (msg # 96):

The way I see him is Spider-Man’s mouth without any of the competence to back it up.

I hated the entire Penance thing. Ugh. So terrible.

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

Armadillo:
[OOC: I'm newer to this system, if I think I got a distinction or milestone in there, do I literally call it? I think I got Monstrous Appearance or Trying to Make It Right in there, SG's Chipper Personality thing, and the milestone "When you declare somebody your old ally or foe", if I've got it right. This wasn't quite 'drastic action' enough, and he's got too much of a plan for it to really be Hair-Trigger Temper, I think? ]

Yep! For Distinctions, they're always part of a die pool, so you'd say something like

Buddy D6 + Monstrous Appearance D8 + Super Strength D8 + Combat D8

And then roll your 1d6,2d8 in the die roller. You don't really need to call out Distinctions unless they're part of a roll, but Milestones should certainly be announced so you can collect your sweet, sweet XP.

If you wanted to use one of my Distinctions, I believe you'd have to pay a Plot Point for the privilege of pilfering such power.

Speedball:
Hopefully that’s in the range of what people are expecting from the bouncing bubble of joy.

Over-the-top? Not far enough?

Nice start! :)

I'm kind of cramming on appearances of everyone's characters (Respect threads on Reddit is really cool for this), btw.

(There was a timeline, sort of, btw where Gwenpool and Squirrel Girl swapped Fourth Walls to break, and talked to eachother's audiences. That was weird, but funny.)

Whoops! I thought I was helping you that way. My bad. No invoke!

Oh! I suppose I could indeed use your reaction to justify adding one of my Distinctions to my own pool, sure!

Hey Watcher, just fit my post actions where they best serve the scene. Did I roll the necessary dice?

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

Nice post moony.

You could easily justify a specialty die in your pool from combat or psych. That would give you one more die.

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

Conan (everyone) I need a reaction against the chimps.

Conan, your pool could work for the reaction and then you could do a new pool and rolls against the chimp, or you can keep this one for an attack and roll a new one for the reaction.

And we have one more player. Iceman!

Iceman, go ahead and say hi, and when you have a chance, you can insert yourself in the ongoing scene.

Ooooh! Iceman & Moondragon worked together in “New Defenders”...until she broke the team when the Dragon of The Moon possesses her. :-o

Totally understandable. BTW, been reading Unbeatable Squirrel Girl... I see the appeal!

(I forget which RPG suggests "being a fan of your co-players and their characters) but I'm trying it out. :)

In reply to Armadillo (msg # 112):

As some research, I read the issue of SG where Mole Man has a crush on her. I think it's like issue 8 or 9 in the 2015 run. I love the snarky writing. I wish they'd invest in a different art style.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody. Looking forward to seeing where this adventure takes all of us, especially Armadillo, who I didn't realize had such an endearing backstory. Rooting for ya, big guy!

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

Y'know, I've never actually read a Squirrel Girl comic. I gained all my knowledge of her through reading RPG materials and listening to my Roll20 Marvel Heroic group talking about her. Yay osmosis!

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

The parodies of the "Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can" song are my favorites like:

Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl! She's a human and also a squirrel! Can she climb up a tree? Yes, she can, easily! That's whyyyy her name is Squirrel Girl! Is she tough? Listen, bud: she's got partially squirrel blood! Who's her friend? Don't you know: that's the squirrel, Tippy-Toe! Surprise! She likes to talk to squirrels! At the top of trees, is where she spends her time like a huuuuman squirrel. She enjoys fighting crime! Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl! Powers of both squirrel and girl! Find some nuts, eat some nuts! Kicks bad guuuuuys' evil butts! To her, life is a great big acorn! Where there's a city crime-torn, you'll find the Squirrel Girl!

Incidentally, might need some help statting what I'm gonna have Armadillo do- it's not strictly in his powerset, y'see...

Re: The Sidekick Lounge (OOC)

XD

Your song pleases me, as does And Then the Monkeys.

As for your roll, a die pool consists of one each of Affiliation, Distinction, Power Set, Specialty, Push/Stunt, Asset, Complication, Opponent's Stress. If you want to use more, for instance using all three Distinctions you mentioned, each extra die costs 1 PP.
