Re: OOC Thread

I'm sorry if anyone was waiting on me to post. Saviǣ didn't have anything else to add and life's been crazy this last month.

Re: OOC Thread

Ha, crazy month?  Understatement of the year.  Yeah, I was kinda waiting for everyone to chime in, and then I got caught up in business too.  I'll make a post now.

Re: OOC Thread

I suggested the diversion because I thought we didn't have a clear shot from current position, but if we do, don't wait for me!

Re: OOC Thread

I've lost track of time - have we rested and recovered spells since fighting the bandits at Oleg's?

Re: OOC Thread

No clue on timing - to Bokken's took to midday but I've got no idea after that.

Talking about something in PM's w/ the GM - please hold off on reacting to Kressle's turn.

Re: OOC Thread

You've definitely rested with since Bokken's.  If the slowest person in the group moves at 30', it takes about 21 hours to cross 1 plains hex and 2 forest hexes, so you definitely need to take a rest en route.  Even if you're all mounted on 50' horses, it's 13+ hours of travel.

Ok, sounds good. Thurak will be casting bless granting everyone a +1 bonus to hit, but I can wait until after Kressle finishes resolving whatever.

(Repeats to self: Specific trumps general, specific trumps general.)

It's amazing that I've been playing Pathfinder for I don't know how long, and I'm still seeing new things.  I had no idea there was an archetype that let you summon as a standard action!

Re: OOC Thread

Hah! There's actually a few ways to summon as a standard action.

Re: OOC Thread

Yeah, outside of the feats (one for divine one Magaambyan casters, one for other arcane casters), there's this (monster tactician) and a couple of archetypes for other classes that copy-paste the summoner's monster summoning spell-like-ability.

My original plan was summoner but it seemed like we needed a skill-monkey and a front-liner so I shifted to this.  Everything the party needed, plus I still get to summon.

Re: OOC Thread

Since we're talking about rules ... how does Kressle get 2 attacks in her standard action?

Ach, you're right.  She needs to do a full-round action to use two-weapon fighting, doesn't she?.  That means the eagle is still alive with 1 hp.

Re: OOC Thread

If you can't tell, I'm a little rusty at Pathfinder rules.  I've been running mostly 5E recently, so I have to get re-aquainted with the PF rules.

Re: OOC Thread

Sorry, dropped the ball here.  Waiting on Aeron to make his post.  I think there was a disagreement about where the Entangle spell was getting cast.

Re: OOC Thread

If I can clarify, Oghul cast roughly 10/15ft behind the chieftain so that it reaches just the edge of the platform.

Re: OOC Thread

I've had a bit of a COVID-related personal issue come up, and as a result I will be very busy and likely posting less frequently at least until this coming Monday. On Monday the whole family is getting re-tested and hopefully this is just a false alarm and I can resume my regular posting rate.

Re: OOC Thread

Sorry - hadn't remembered seeing Oghul's PM response that now that she understands what it would do, she wants to keep it how she wrote it.

They are pretty solidly Aeron-proofed: he can't charge, even if the horse makes his save he can't make it in range to attack anyone, while the bandits are free to take shots at Aeron and Mick.  I'll post something momentarily.

Re: OOC Thread

Sorry I didn’t realise you would act before the bandits.
My thought process was that only some of them would fail the save, the others would come out and you could pick those.
Actually you could delay your initiative and do that.

Boss, could you confirm which squares are difficult terrain or not?
We could use a coordinate system, A-Z horizontal and 1-20 vertical or something.

Re: OOC Thread

Whether they they save or not, there is no reason for them to come out to let me ride them down.  There is every reason to sit back on the now fortified terrain and pepper us with arrows.  If they did decide to walk out to where we can stab them, it would tak most of them multiple turns to get there b/c of difficult terrain and more chances to fail saves.

Re: OOC Thread

In reply to Aeron (msg # 146):

-2 Attack rolls on top of -4 Dex makes ranged attacks from entangle troublesome.

Entangle and Web can be annoying for melee types, but they're usually combat winners.

Re: OOC Thread

Is it really that easy to escape an Entangle? I had to look again but I guess the spell doesn't specify that the entangled creatures are anchored. Do the bandits who failed their saves still count as Entangled (-2 Attack, -4 Dex, half speed) after leaving the area?

I think so. That’s how I read it. I mean, you did basically cost them their entire turn though. That’s a favorable trade.
