Charla Shinehands ran this small but warm and friendly inn, dangerously close, some said, to the Steelhorse Empire and its slavers.  Kej, Charla and Tucker were gathered there with Snowblind, relaxing...

"Now then, I certainly could use some ale and that stew you usually have going. Do you have it going?" Snowblind asked.

"Do I ever not?" Charla asked, and using her magic, a bowl and a tankard floated over to them.

"Yes! Your stuff is the best!" Snowblind said as she dug in.

Charla grinned proudly, and started to speak-- but then the door to the tavern slammed open abruptly!

Snowblind looked over at the door to see what's going on.

A goblin came in, an arrow in one shoulder, panting with exhaustion.

"Slavers!" he said.  "They raided our mine camp, not an hour from here!"

"Let's get going," Snowblind said. "But we should take care of this one first."

"I've got him," said Charla, feeding the goblin a Goodberry and removing the arrow.  "I should get my armor, too..."

"Right, you do that and I'll stay here with them," Snowblind said before turning to the goblin. "Anything else you can tell me?"

"Humans," said the goblin.  "Humans on horses, with wagons to carry away the prisoners!"

"Don't worry, we'll put a stop to this," Snowblind said.

The others were gathering weapons and armor as Snowblind talked.

"...Do you, like, need anything?" Kej asked.

"I've got my component pouch already and some emergency provisions," Snowblind said. "I think I'm good."

"Then so am I," said Kej.  "Just waiting on Tucker and Charla to armor up..."

"Hopefully they'll be here soon," Snowblind said.

"Ready," said Tucker, terse and with underlying bloodthirst.  The ghosts of her old clan were clearly hungry...

"I'm ready, too," said Charla, picking up her shield

"Good! Let's get going," Snowblind said.
