[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Your patrol begins rather quietly, considering that most of the warriors of the Rimewood were gone off to take part in a great battle. After introducing yourselves you're off. Things go smoothly as your group moves from tower to tower collecting signatures from each of the guards. It isn't until midway thru your patrol that anything happens. You spot 2 figures hiding not very well among the nearby trees. They have crossbows at the ready and seem to be taking aim at your group.
Roll Initiative please.

Erret had given her a simple task, possibly one to familiarize her further with the area.  It seemed a nice day, she was glad to be out of the town.  Bloodhowl had heard of larger cities, she did not think she would want to ever visit one.  Even when tribes got to large it seemed to breed decay.  The scent came strong and the glean of the bolt heads, two fools pointing weapons at her and some compatriots along to help.

Common "Yield yeah smelly goblin turds or we will be leaving your corpses for the ravens."

Bloodhowl point to the direction of her comment to Avreena, Cael and Prina.  All three had been very quite over the course of the day, which had been very much appreciated.

The short haired older woman stepped forward with a spear in one hand and her shield in the other. "Keep your eyes peeled." She spoke to the group. "I see four of them, but there may be more."

Action: Hold attack until an enemy comes within range.

Cael, being more of the silent type anyways, stayed back, eyes sharp and focused on the area the figures were in. He wasted no time however in casting on himself a glowing armor.

Action: Used mage armor on self.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Enemy 1 spoke, "Ha! We're anything, but goblins and we don't take orders from the likes of you! Get 'em men!" The bandit drew his crossbow and shot at Bloodhowl Ragebinder. The bolt misses flying off wildly in the distance to the South.

Enemy 2 wasted no time on words, choosing to just shoot instead. He took aim at Bloodhowl Ragebinder as well, but he too missed his mark.

Enemy 3 followed suit, but took aim at Avreene Dalancia. The bolt fell short by far and would have easily been considered a dud.

Enemy 4 released his own crossbow bolt taking aim at Bloodhowl Ragebinder. This bolt was the only one shot off to even come close to its mark, but still it too missed.

Two more bolts are shot off from behind the trees revealing the positions of two more bandits.

The first is from Enemy 5 who misses as well.

The second, from Enemy 6 lands its hit at Bloodhowl Ragebinder.
Enemy 6 attacks and hits dealing Bloodhowl Ragebinder 7 damage.

Seeing the other magic user cast armor on himself Prina followed suit cast her own glowing armor upon herself.

Action: Use Mage Armor on self.

Bloodhowl is unfazed by the flying bolts, until the one that strikes her in the meaty part of her thigh.  A grunt escapes her lips, as she pulls it through so as not to tear the flesh inside.  Dropping the bloody bolt to the ground, she goes into a rage as she walks forward seething in anger.  Hoisting a Javelin, throwing it at the one who struck her.

"RAVENS IT IS!"

Bonus Action: Rage
Action: Move up to H4

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Bloodhowl Ragebinder pulls a bolt from her thigh sending herself into a rage. To retaliate, she moves into position and hoists a javelin launching it into the air. It lands square in Enemy 6's shoulder. He looks badly wounded, but is still up.
Bloodhowl Ragebinder moves to H4, enters rage, and attacks Enemy 6 dealing them 10 damage. Nice hit!

Avreene Dalancia moves as close as she can to the enemy then points a finger at one of the bandits (not the one that spoke). Not a moment later the distant sound of bells could be heard in the air around the bandit she had pointed out. The bandit looks slightly affected, but still stands.
Avreene Dalancia moves to G7 and casts Toll The Dead on Enemy 5. Enemy 5 fails his wis saving through and gets dealt 2 necrotic damage.

Cael Stonebrook too raises up his hand and points at another of the bandits. One after the other three glowing darts race towards the bandit. All three hit the same bandit sending him onto his back motionless. Enemy 2 is dead.
Cael Stonebrook casts Magic Missile directing all three darts to hit Enemy 2 dealing him a total of 12 damage. Enemy 2 is dead!

Enemy 1 takes aim at Bloodhowl Ragebinder releasing another bolt in her direction. It hits grazing only the side of her arm.
Enemy 1 attacks Bloodhowl Ragebinder and hits dealing her 2 piercing damage.

Enemy 2 is lying on the ground dead.

Enemy 3 takes aim at Bloodhowl Ragebinder as well, but misses terribly sending the bolt flying off into nowhere.

Enemy 4 moves to a better position then takes aim at Avreene Dalancia. The bolt misses and is send flying wild.
Enemy 4 moves to C1.

Enemy 5 takes a shot at Avreene Dalancia. It misses as well.

Enemy 6 takes aim at Bloodhowl Ragebinder and releases the bolt. It hits her side planting itself firmly in place.
Enemy 6 attacks Bloodhowl Ragebinder and hits dealing 3 piercing damage. Then moves to A5.


Prina Warhook, taking her cue from the others, points her finger at one of the other bandits. Three of her very own glowing darts produce themselves one right after the other all aimed for the same target. Enemy 3 falls over dead.
Prina Warhook casts Magic Missile at Enemy 3 dealing a total of 11 damage to him. Enemy 3 is dead!

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Her javelin sticking out of the filth brings a grin to her face, she remembers another of the bolts narrowly missing her and see's the bandit as he cowers behind some trees.  She charges forward not overly blinded by her rage but this needed to end quickly.

Movement 30 ft. plus her Aggressive racial feat of 30 ft. to B1
Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 24 using 1d20+4. BattleAxe Attack on E4. Nat 20/Crit
Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 8 using 1d10 with rolls of 8.  Battle Axe Dmg. x 2 + 4 = 20 Dmg.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Bloodhowl Ragebinder rushes at the bandit hiding behind the trees. With one swift swipe the bandit is struck across the gut leaving him to bleed out on the snow. The bandit falls to the ground face down beside the trees.
Bloodhowl Ragebinder moves to B1 and attacks Enemy 4 critting for a total of 18 damage.

Avreene Dalancia points at Enemy 5 demanding with one word, "Die." With that one word spoken again the faint sound of bells could be heard around the bandit she had pointed at. They clasp their hands over their ears in response trying to block out the noice, but to no avail. Enemy 5 is in pain, but is still standing.
Avreene Dalancia casts Toll The Dead on Enemy 5. Enemy 5 fails his wis saving through and gets dealt 8 necrotic damage.

Cael Stonebrook hurls a bolt of fire at the bandit with the loud mouth. He hits burning the bandits side, but the bandit still stands.
Cael Stonebrook casts Firebolt at Enemy 1 and hits critting for a total of 6 damage.

Enemy 1 draws the bolt on his crossbow back and takes aim Bloodhowl Ragebinder. He releases and hits dealing a strong blow into her other leg.
Enemy 1 attacks Bloodhowl Ragebinder and hits critting for a total 8 damage.

Enemy 2 is lying on the ground dead.

Enemy 3 is dead on the ground.

Enemy 4 is dead as well.

Enemy 5 moves into position to shoot and draws their bolt back firing at Bloodhowl Ragebinder, but it flies wildly into the air away from the group. They then move back to hide behind a tree.
Enemy 5 moves to A7.

Enemy 6 draws their bolt back and fires at Bloodhowl Ragebinder, but it flies wildly into the air away from the group.


Prina Warhook hurls a bolt of fire at Enemy 5, but it goes flying off only to being extinguished in the snow.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Searing white hot pain courses through her body where the bolt hits, instinctively she grabs hold of the wound to apply pressure to stop the bleeding.  As she goes to step forward she blacks out from the pain landing on top of the one whose innard’s she had spilt.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Whispers in the mist, moving figures in the distance blurred out by the fog, an immense bear hand fades into a bear paw.  The smells of a ancient battle, the acrid smell of blood hangs in the air, but it is sharper. She can almost make out the different scents of the deceased individuals.  Then it is gone evaporated to memories of her rearing at the hands...no the paws of a bear.  With a gasp and massive inhaling of breath Bloodhowl awakens, pushing herself into the nook the two tree's make where she had taken the life of a weak warrior.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Nice roll!
Bloodhowl Ragebinder goes down, but not even a moment later her eyes open once more and she breathes in life as if greeting a familiar, but much needed friend.
Bloodhowl Ragebinder crit on her death save and regains 1 Hp.

Avreene Dalancia moves swiftly once she sees her ally fall. With one word spoken, "Heal!" and a hand on her shoulder Bloodhowl Ragebinder feels a soothing warmth flow into her body healing some of her wounds. Then Avreene Dalancia then positions herself between her fallen ally and the enemy.
Avreene Dalancia moves to B2 and casts Cure Wound on Bloodhowl Ragebinder healing her for 8 Hp. Then moves to B3.

Cael Stonebrook hurls another bolt of fire at the same target as before. It hits, but fizzles nearly as soon as it makes contact.
Cael Stonebrook casts Fire Bolt and hits Enemy 1 dealing him 1 damage.

Enemy 1 laughs off the most recent attack and draws back his weapon once again. He takes aim trying to get a clear shot at Bloodhowl Ragebinder, but Avreene Dalancia stands firmly in the way and becomes his new target. The bolt hits dead on stabbing Avreene Dalancia in the shoulder blade in between her armor.
Enemy 1 attacks Avreene Dalancia and deals her 3 damage.

Enemy 2 is lying on the ground dead.

Enemy 3 is dead on the ground.

Enemy 4 is dead as well.

Enemy 5 steps out from his hiding spot just long enough to shoot at Avreene Dalancia. The bolt strikes her chest and she falls to the ground unconscious.
Enemy 5 attacks Avreene Dalancia and hits critting for 14 damage. Avreene Dalancia is dying.

Enemy 6 shakily draws back his crossbow and aims for Bloodhowl Ragebinder. It hits square in her shoulder.
Enemy 6 attacks Bloodhowl Ragebinder and hits dealing 4 damage.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Rising from where Avreene Dalancia had graciously healed her she staggers a bit from another crossbow bolt.  Leaving it in her shoulder, Bloodhowl twists it a little and goes into another rage, her eyes locking onto her nearest victim.  Charging she cleaves her battle axe down onto his shoulder. "Your all going to die"  As she looks down on her prey.



Bloodhowl stands (15 movement) and moves from B1 to A4.
20:37, Today: Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 23 using 1d20+4.  battle axe attack on E5.
20:38, Today: Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 4 using 1d10+2.  Battle Axe Dmg. +2 Rage Dmg.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11


Bloodhowl Ragebinder rushes towards the closest enemy to her and brings her axe down on his shoulder. It hits leaving a gaping gash where it struck and the bandit falls and stops moving.
Bloodhowl Ragebinder attacked and hit dealing 4 damage to Enemy 6. Enemy 6 is dead!

Avreene Dalancia lies unconscious, but movement can still be seen from her breathing. She's not dead yet!
Avreene Dalancia rolls her first death save and succeeded. 1 save made 0 fails.

Cael Stonebrook quickly moves into position and takes a shot at the remaining bandit, but misses and sends it flying dead into the snow.
Cael Stonebrook moves to H2 and casts Fire Bolt, but misses.

Enemy 1 is dead.

Enemy 2 is lying on the ground dead.

Enemy 3 is dead on the ground.

Enemy 4 is dead as well.

Enemy 5 cowers in fear. He picks up his crossbow shakily, but before taking the shot drops it and yells, "I surrender! I surrender! Please don't kill me!"

Prina Warhook shrugs, but doesn't have her attention leave him for a moment.
Prina Warhook holds Fire Bolt at the ready incase the enemy makes any hostile movements.

Glaring at the last remaining assailant as he drops his cross bow.

"Kneel down with your feet crossed behind you, lace your finger and place them behind your head.  If you even twitch towards your weapon you will join your friends."

Bloodhowl backs up to Avreene Dalancia and kneels down beside her and attempts to stabilize her.

19:57, Today: Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 14 using 1d20+2.  Intimidation Roll.
19:54, Today: Bloodhowl Ragebinder rolled 18 using 1d20+3.  Medicine Check (Stabilize Avreene Dalancia)

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

Enemy 5 does as he is told as Bloodhowl sees to Avreene. Cael and Prina never take their gaze off of the enemy. As Bloodhowl sees to Avreene her breathing stabilizes and begins to calm though Avreene does not return to consciousness. It is easy enough to tell that she is no longer in danger of dying as long as she is able to rest or receive healing before she is moved.

If you wish to wait and let Avreene heal through rest it will take 2 hours.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

With Avreene some what physically stable, Bloodhowl asks Cael and Prina to guard this last assailant.  She goes to each fallen enemy, her weapon at the ready.  Removing any weapons, coins or anything else of perceived value and makes a small pile by Avreene (A3).
Using strips of clothing or scraps of leather armor to bundle spare crossbow bolts together, she lashes the items together in a way they can be transported back to town.
Bloodhowl takes the time to cover and insulate Avreene from the ground and surrounding environment using her survival blanket and fastens together a crude stretcher.  Once completed she instructs the remaining enemy to pick up the front of the stretcher as she picks up what she can carry and grabs the back end of the stretcher and directs him back to town.

"On this trip back to town, you will go where directed, if you fail to listen I will gut you.  You also will tell me what little you know as to why you attacked us and to what purpose.  Were you hired, are you just common thieves' try to pick soft targets.  Pending on your words I may even put in a good word for you when we get back.  Pray that this valiant warrior lives."

Bloodhowl also takes the time to lash the stretcher to the enemy's hands and a rope that is just long enough for a walking stride but a running one will trip him up.

[Quest] Patrol Group 11

On the dead bandits bodies Bloodhowl collected 45sp, 12gp, 5 Scimitars, and 5 Light Crossbows. From the last living bandit she also collected a Scimitar and a Light Crossbow. Cael and Prina took hold of the bundle of weapons indicating that they would work together to take it back to the town while Bloodhowl and the bandit could work to get Avreene back to town as well. On the way back the last bandit does as he is told. He says, "We had been watching the town for a while now and we heard about the siege that was taking place. We thought with so many of the towns warriors gone it would be an easy mark. We were wrong."

Listening carefully to see or hear for any deception or lack of forth coming, Bloodhowl grunted a little at the end of his response.

"A couple more questions and then it will be silence till we get back to the town.  Are there any others and if so how many?  Is there a base camp and again of so what are it's defenses. Was you leader among them or were you the leader?"

No matter his response, Bloodhowl will no longer respond and await there arrival in town.  Keeping an eye out for other potential conflict.

The bandit nodded in response to Bloodhowl and answered, "No, no others, it was just us. We left our campsite buried a ways away. Our leader was the loudest among us, the one who spoke to you first."
After he finished his response he kept quiet not daring to tempt Bloodhowl's bloodthirst.
By the time they reached back to Smith's Gambit Avreene had started to wake up and while she was still in bad condition at least she was conscious now.
