Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 226-228

Twiggy checks the armor box for traps, but finds nothing. There is a nice lock on the box though. He points that out to the party before going over to the Throne to search for traps, secret doors, switches etc...he's there for quite some time and by the time he's finished, Amara has searched all she could search (minus the double door at the top of the stairs). Both of them come up empty. During the time it takes to search the area, the rest of the party is quite bored. It takes quite some time to search for traps and secret doors and Nolan figures the party has been underground for at least 6 hours. The box with the armor is opened by Nolan using a Knock spell and inside the box are 2 Dwarf-sized Breastplates made of Adamantite.

Twiggy or Amara doesn't find any traps, triggers, buttons, secret doors or anything else hidden within the "Throne" room. The passage North goes to a "T" intersection.

Byron watches over the others as they go about their business.

He comments to the big cat.

I know you aren't a scaredy cat.  She's just teasing you to make light of her own fears.

Those breastplates are worth quite a bit of money. We'll take those if nobody is here. If we're done in here, let's continue our search. Twiggy, lead on.

Roen looked over his shoulder when the party was ready to leave,

"Double doors always indicate something important. You guys are sure you want to leave that behind us? So far, I haven't seen another exit out of this place."

OK, let's have a vote. Those who want to check the double door right now, say Yes. If not, say No.

Myarra is making a lot of sense today, and in a fit of wisdom and intelligence I find myself agreeing with her.

Byron moves stand in front of the double doors off to the left side of the center of the two doors.

Twiggy stops not caring but not getting attacked from behind makes sense. "Double doors unless it turns into a long hallway. Don't want to get hit from behind."

Amara shrugged, still avoiding duplicating work with Twiggy, but instead searching for traps, where likely, in other ways to maximize a good use of their time.

OK, double door it is. Amara, Twiggy, make sure it's safe for us to go up the stairs, then Vernon, do your thing and tell us what you see.

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 226-228

The party back tracks back to the double door up the small flight of steps. Amara and Twiggy looked for traps on the floor, walls and the door, but they find nothing. Nolan can tell that the door is magical somehow with his special sight. Vernon floats right through the doors with no problems and comes back every few seconds to tell you what he sees...

Amara assists Twiggy dutifully, but then sighs, "We have found one trap, and little indication that this place was ever secured in a manner that would suggest many traps - at least on this floor.

Let's stop wasting time until we come to something that suggests we need to continue checking - such as significantly different decor, another floor, or such."

I don't see any runes, so I'm guessing it's an Arcane Lock. Good thing I memorized Knock a couple times today. I also have a Dispel magic handy as well. This is a Temple, so go ahead and try to open the door, Twiggy. If it's locked, I'll use spells.

Re: 1372: The Year of Wild Magic: Day 226-228

Twiggy looks around for the key hole, but doesn't find one. He tries to open the door, but it won't move. Vernon looked on the otherside of the door, but there is no door bar keeping the door closed, so it has to be magic preventing the door from being opened. Nolan casts a Knock spell and the large stone double doors open towards the party. And when the doors are opened, the lights come on to reveal what Vernon described. The statues are 10 feet tall.

Twiggy just looks at the statues and the area waiting to see where they detect magic. Looking at Roen the halfling nods but then chuckles "Roen, that is the life we choose, to put ourselves in danger. I want to go on and explore this area. We promised the dwarf ghost that we would lay his bones to rest with his clan and it is bothering me not knowing where the rest of the dwarves that were hete went to."

"I'm not familiar with Dwarvish burial customs, but I haven't seen anything that resembles a tomb yet. The flat area with those statues looks really suspicious to me and I think it would be in our best interests if we questioned the ghost again to get some insight before walking into danger. I am, by no means, a coward. I just don't want to start any fights in a Temple."
