About 20 feet. Matrim could try to throw the end of the rope to whoever is on the pier, or row the boat back to the pier.

Having come into the group a little late here, and finding ourselves somewhat of a crossroads here, I wanted to ask what our direction is supposed to be here in the game? Do we even have a direction, or are we sandboxing this business?

I think we're walking a pretty straight line. We got Irontusk to question and the small piece of paper he threw to look at.

I know about that part, but what's our overall storyline? Are we trying to remain within the city for this adventure? Do we even have an overarching story, or are we just people with powers sitting in a bar, reacting to things as they happen around us?

I'm asking for the sake of killing vs capture, and so forth. The halfling woman, for example, she blew a whistle which seemed to me to be a warning for Irontusk, or a call for help, so I killed her. That's probably not necessarily the best course of action for a game where we want to stay in town forever.

As for Gnorlin he's not against killing but will follow a good alignment when it comes to harming others. When it comes to belongings however he finds a bit more 'grey' in his choices.

I think the best thing you can do is evaluate how you think the character would react and play accordingly. The group will come to a balance as we get to know each other better.

As for the halfling... she made her choice to side with criminals...Gnorlin sees no issue in her death.

You're not restricted or required to stay in town.
It's a big world out there if you feel like traveling.
