It is now commanded by Major Davis, the former CO of VMFA-314 "Black Knights", which was de-established after losing most of its pilots during the space fold. Major Davis has expanded the size of the squadron and cherry picked a few two seat VF-1's from various other squadrons.

2nd UN Spacy Marine Expeditionary Regiment: The ten infantry companies provide interior security for the critical areas of the UES Macross, UES Prometheus, and UES Daedalus. At any given time five companies are one duty, three on the UES Macross (1 in the command tower, 1 in each of the engine booms), one on the UES Prometheus, and one on the UES Daedalus. The three light armored reconnaissance companies are assigned to Macross City itself as internal security, but can be moved to assist in defending the starboard launch/recovery hanger bays.
- Military Police Company (Reinforced) The surviving infantry/ground personnel from the Macross Island Ground Defense Regiment have been combined into a reinforced Military Police Company.
