Pesky:
Sorry, but how is damage handled now?
Do you roll something, like a d2 or d4? And is the die choice dependent on what's doing the attacking?
A good question. I must admit that I've been playing it very loosely.
In theory, there are three classes of threat: Weak, Strong, and Powerful.
Weak would be one average security robot.
Strong would be that better-than-average security robot that shorted Alyn's Force Field that The Duke tore apart, or mmmmaybe the giant crab monsters the boys dealt with recently.
Powerful would be if we had to take down a functioning Doomwalker, I think.
I've just been asking for attack rolls (generally Forceful for Melee, Agile for shooting, and Scary/Weird for freaky psychic abilities) and going from there based on how hard I think a threat should be to take down.
For PC damage, if they take it, I've usually been charging 1 damage for a roll of 7 to 9 and sometimes 2 for a flat-out failure, depending on what they're fighting.
But the more we're relying on armor, the more I've realized the need for more number crunch in this process...
