Physicians work with clerics here, or separately? Also, any members of the Adventurers guild deal with poisons?

Re: Awards and development

In reply to Aine Walsh (msg # 532):

Clarence is also looking at a clothing upgrade.

He has
Leather Jerkin        DR 2*  $120 14.4 lb  (Torso, Upper arms and Shoulders)
Padded Sleeves        DR 1*  $20  2.4 lbs  (Elbows, Lower Sleeves)

He would like a
Fine Heavy Leather Jerkin DR 2  13.95 lbs  (Torso, Arms) worth $2330,

but he has only $2150,
a Lantern worth $20
a Heavy Cloak (Leather) DR 1vc $90 3 lbs, DB 2
a Large Knife, $40  1 lbs

Can he find anyone willing to do the trade?

Re: Awards and development

Clarence selling on his own, with his personal reaction penalties is only getting 30% of list on those used items.  He doesn't have a relationship with Benito, Anita does.  Were she in this world and not lost in Faerie,
he could have a word for her and probably for a 10% cut get Benito to sell them at list price.

Re: Awards and development

the exchange rate based on wealth/appearance/ criminal background is only 30% of list on those items, which you can get... but it is possible to get non-fine armor that costs quite a bit less

Re: Awards and development

the total value of your offered goods is $87, which leaves you $93 in the hole -see if one of the others will loan you the difference, or do the trade for you.

you would sell at 40% rather than 30% which would bring the shortfall closer.

Re: Awards and development

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 543):

Hmmm, add in the small shield, looking at selling

He has $2150, jacket worth $2330, so $180 shortfall.

Large Knife                           $40
Lantern                               $20
Small Shield (Buckler), Heavy DB 1,   $35, 6.5 lbs
Heavy Cloak (Leather) DR 1vc          $90 3 lbs, DB 2
Leather Jerkin        DR 2*          $120 14.4 lb  (Torso, Upper arms and Shoulders)
Padded Sleeves        DR 1*           $20  2.4 lbs  (Elbows, Lower Sleeves)

Total value: $325 x 30% = $97.5, $325 x 40% = $130, still $50 short. Can anyone in our group sell for more that 40%?

Our share each was $1998. I believe the cornucopia quiver is worth $2010.

Re: Awards and development

Cornucopia items inflated tremendously when DFRPG killed Quick & Dirty enchantment.  The cost of the enchantment alone was multipled by 25, plus cost of any materials.  It's game balance, of course, along with removing player character enchantment; characters have to keep adventuring to get money to spend on this stuff.

I have a Cornucopia quiver with an ordinary arrow in it -- legacy from chargen, when it was still a pretty cheap item (at least when it produces a cheap item like an arrow).  I'd like to get one that produces a silvered arrow, but the cost is huge...

Re: Awards and development

Two things required to make lending a good way to "save": reliable payback, and interest rate commensurate with risk.

Lending to adventurers seems a high-risk investment, hence needs a high interest rate.
