Affare Acisculu:
After giving his all in the cause of persuading Father Johan, he spares a glance for the Olive Lady. He genuinely fears that her preaching of strange ideas concerning the proper relationship between men and women will get her burned at the stake, especially in the presence of these crusaders. But at the moment, the common danger they all faced was distracting them. A strange thought occurs to him: what if her ideas were to become commonplace, at some distant time in the future? He shudders a little, just thinking of it. Every woman, a Calliope! Life would be unbearable.
LOL;-) Not necessarily strange ideas though...she's Greek;-). So is Emrys btw but he was raised in Fengheld since he was age 5. Maga can blow up castles and melt people at a glance just as well as a magus can so his outlook is a bit different.
One of my favorite history profs told us this saying when I was a undergrad, 'Put three Romans together you get a Republic. Three Greeks and you get an argument.'
Granted the native Greeks of when the game is set would call themselves Roman and citizens of the Roman Empire (not what we would call in the modern day the Byzantium Empire). Granted I wonder how to sort this out if there was someone from Rome. Probably not an issue for folks from the Holy Roman Empire either as I doubt anyone there would call themselves 'Roman' (as Voltaire would latter jokingly describe 'the Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire'.)
