Bella Donna-The Water's Just Fine

"Well I'm the reason why you got hurt so it was my responsibility to help you. Glad I could. As for what I can do, could fly up and check the fog. By my calculations and they are indeed right the fog seemed to sink back. So by killing this Gilly it is possible the fog could shrink back but to know about how far and how many Gillys, I need a proper area of the fog." Bella pulls out her journal and bites her lip just as her parrot pops out of the backpack and looks around before going back inside. She glances at the dead Gilly and takes a deep breath "Was it checked? If I know what it is, it would prove benifial."

Sorry.  Just to make sure I'm answering the right question:  are you looking to them to provide an estimate of how much area the fog usually covers?  Or are you flying up to look it over yourself?  Or both?

Thanks

Both. Flying up to see about how far the fog covers. Basically want to figure out about how much space the fog 'left' when the Gilly died

Hope the foggy areas are visible

The western and southern parts of town seem to be fog free.  The north and east are still fog bound.

Flying up, the alchemist gets a decent view. She stops on top of the tavern and looks around trying to see if anymore of the Gillys are close to the door. She takes a deep breath.

You going down to inspect the Gilly?

You can't make out any movement in the fog.  Though you do notice that it seems to be thicker around the house the others were saying might have other survivors.

You do also notice that the fog doesn't extend out far into the water.  Maybe about 50' or so past the beach.

If he is inside the tavern, yes. If not, nope.

The alchemist sits, looking down over the fog. She sighs, pondering some things. Bella isn't capable of doing well this but she is a thief. She peers down into it and if she doesn't see anything, Bella flys up and down to the opening in the tavern to the others.

In reply to Bella Donna (msg # 54):

The Gilly is mostly inside the tavern.  Certainly inspectable.

It looks like the usual kind of undead.

As to it's appearance:

From when you saw it before

quote:
It's definitely undead.  He looks like a drowned man.  The vacant eyes stare about.  Then it reaches a hand forward and starts lurching forward again.  It's moving in an odd way.  It's hand outstretched.  You see it bump into a table even you could see through the fog.

Give me a PER check.  And any other kind of check you feel is appropriate please.  Thanks

The "Gilly" doesn't have anything of value on it's...person?..corpse?  But it does seem to be actually dead.

You chew through what you know on the undead.  It seemed to be a higher level than say a zombie.  But it's not a ghoul or ghast.  No smell.

It's definitely corporeal.  So it's not a ghost or wraith or anything like that.

You think the Gilly started life as a sailor.  He has the look most sailors along the coast have.  But he was probably drowned.  Odd thing is he's not bloated like a drowned corpse.  Nor does he seem to bear any marks indicating he was bitten or attacked by another undead.

The "Gilly" seems to be unique.  Or at least a species of undead you haven't heard of.

They obviously have a connection to the fog.  But they don't seem to hunt in packs.

That is, assuming they "hunt".  You don't see any indication this thing eats people.  At least from the outside.

Of course if you want to open up it's stomach and see what's inside, you can.  That is the only way to know if this is a meat-eater after all.

One last note of interest.  It's not wet.  The Gilly's body is damp, like it had come in from a drizzly rain.  But it's not soaked as if it had come out of the ocean.

Bella Donna-The Water's Just Fine

Taking a deep breath, Bella ask the others to help her get it on a table. She rolls up her sleeves after removing her poncho, almost gagging even though it doesn't smell. She knows what she has to do but doesn't want ot. Heck she's a kid. A bright kid. Her arms have tatoos on them (and one on her back which she doesn't show) revealing odd sea life without closer looking at them. Taking a deep breath, she pulls out her dagger. Unsure of where to start, she starts at the Gillys upper chest and makes a incision and goes down to its lower belly. Heck she ain't a doctor but with her vast reasoning well....

"From my calculatioons just by watching the Gilly, it doesn't hunt in pack. Well least to my knowledge. Possibly it might. If it did, we would be in a bit of a predicament. And I can tell possibly it knows where people are as I could tell by my flight apparatius and view of said village. It looks like a drowned corpse. Has anyone known of say a ship that sunk nearbye or a sea battle? It is strange how it seems to not be from the ocrean. Seen the dampness? If it was it would be soaking wet. Never saw a undead before and wish I didn't see one now." She decides to get into the stomach or what it entails but does it hesitantly and makes sure to pull out any gloves she has-a advantage of being a alchemist.

Woggles makes a face.  "Eeeewwww!  Dead naked drowned guy..."

Rardo seems a bit tougher.  He hunkers down next to it, peers at it, and shakes his head.  "I mean...yeah.  We've had people drown around here.  But nothin' in recent memory.  This guy don't look like he's been in the ocean.  No signs any fishies have tried nibblin' on him..."

You cut the Gilly open.

Eeeeeeewwwww!  What a stink!

It's stomach is full.  Of undigested but chewed up bats and lizards.  Also bat guano.  This thing seems to like to eat bat guano.  Cos there's a lot of that in there.

The alchemist nods and puts a sheet if she can find something over it. She tries not to hurl and looks at the others "Well it doesn't eat people apparently. Or hasn't in quite awhile. So is there a possibility of bat guano or lizards around? I got a possible idea. It might work." She goes to find a bucket if there is one to wash her hands.

Woggles finds you a bucket.  And a few towels.  And some lye soap.

Then he stands nearby with a bottle of moonshine so you can disinfect your hands.

Gar scratches his chin-wart.  "Hmmm.  That almost sounds like a cave.  Closest cave I know of is up the coast about a mile.  It's full a' bats.  We always tell the kids to stay away from it cos if they get bit, the kids will get real sick."

The girl ponders something "Well I can possible use the bats against the Gilly if we can possibly find a way to either lure them there or I can possbly go there and get this extract. If they feed on them which I have proven, I can get them with it. Something for them to feed on other then ourselves. I am uncertain how many are lurcking within the fog. Or if there is a way to harness the fog and press it back towards the ocean or this cave therefore...." Bella rubs her chin "Though how to push it back remains unknown. Maybe a fan, large one, like say a windmill. No that probably won't work unless I can find a way to use it and lower it enough. Probably not." She starts to move around after using the moonshine on her hands and stops "How much of this do we have?"

"Moonshine?" Rardo asks, watchign you sloosh the jug to clean your hands.  "Quite a bit.  There's a still outback."

Gar barks a laugh.  "And we have about eight or so jugs left in the backroom.  Why?  You wanna try to burn 'em out?"

"Well actually is there a way out of here besides the front door? If we can lure them here, I can set off a explosion detonation the possible moonshine. Blow them all up or quite possibly give them something to focus on.  Yet we need something to lure them inside. Or use the moonshine elsewhere focusing them. Like the cave." Bella ponders walking around.

They all think about it.  Then Woogles points at the floor.

"This building is built on supports.  It's not set on the ground.  If we pull up the floor boards, I bet we can crawl out from under the building in whichever direction we want."

"With the proper items, I could link the moonshine together. It should have the precise alchohol content to explode but not sure how far. We need to take down the barrier after it is constructed and somehow get into the crawlspace. I could used my flying appareatus to kinow which direction to go. But we need bait. I won't ask anyone here, that would be uncalled for. But I could possibly use my friend to fly in and fly out after coating it with the innards I could beforehand. Like living or rather unliving. Sort of living...." Bella ponders for a moment "Though if this does work, do I have to rebuild this? I mean I could and have it be far superior then it is now." She's a 16 year old girl. Seriously?

Yup.

OOC
So is it possible to drop a bomb into the moonshine setting it off?

Not sure exactly what you mean.

Do you mean throwing a bomb into a container of moonshine and setting it off?

Or attaching a bomb like a detonator?

I think yes on the first one.  Second one would require a feat.  Can't recall off the top of my head if there is a delayed bomb feat.  And am not in a position to check at the mo.

Did that tell you what you need?  Thanks

Meant throw the bomb into the moonshine would be the most practical and I don't think there is any delay bomb feats? I could possibly og McGuiver and figure out some timer though dunno if Bella would think of it. Could shoot the moonshine but not sure if that will work. I got firecrackers lol. Never know if I will need half of what I have. Course I could hold the moonshine and then slap time it to throw them togeher but that's not what IOI am planning.....

I thought there was a delay bomb feat.  Maybe thinking of a different game.

But doesn't matter.  Yes, you may toss a bomb into the moonshine.  Of course you have to make a To Hit roll.  And I think you would need to do a minimum amount of damage to get it to ignite.  I'd have to know how you're doing the set up of the bomb and how much moonshine you plan to use.

Let's say you have 8 1-gallon jugs of moonshine.  The jugs all have narrow mouths, so I wouldn't plan on using those as your vessel for the bomb.  Just saying.

Well what about a molotov cocktail? Probably have bottles (not jugs) to put the moonshine in. Probably have towels or whatnot to stick in them. Grab a torch.

In reply to Bella Donna (msg # 71):

Sorry for the delay.  This week's been a bit nuts.

Yes, Molotov cocktail is an option.  Just note Molotov's don't explode.  They are meant to spread burning fuel.

That may sound ticky, but it is a different effect.  Either way you'll do damage.

What did I say you had?  Eight jugs?  So that would be 8 Cocktails. If you want to look for bottles, I would need a PER check for the search please.
 thanks.
