Breya was bloodied and glad  to still be on her feet, but she cursed when she realized how far away her next possible opponent was.  With a grunt she started running.

Kamatar, slightly distracted by the fire and smoke, tried to focus on firing at Mouthy.
A brief cloud of smoke drifted across his vision, briefly distracting his focus.
It seemed that only one arrow would find its way to Mouthy.

Inwardly, Kamatar was disgusted with his lack of focus.

OOC:Three arrows released, only one cleanly found its mark.
Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 24 using 1d20+10. Arrow fired at Mouthy.
Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 17 using 1d20+10. Arrow fired at Mouthy.
Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 16 using 1d20+10. Perfect Strike w/Arrow at Mouthy.
Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 6 using 1d20+5. Arrow fired at Mouthy.

Kamatar Yu Pan rolled 12 using 2d6+6  Arrow damage

Skeeter scrambles around on Mouthy like a squirrel on a tree, using his foe's bulk to block any of the fireball that would have had any effect on him. "That's not gonna work bud, try this!" he says, again trying to stab the foe, but utterly failing to get a weak point

Reflex: 28 (with Evasion)

Mouthy takes your blow Bellinha.  But with your attention diverted, he manages to swipe across your back with his sword.  I added in the +4 Bell.  You'll take 10 pts yourself.  But it's kind of academic at this point

Then poor mouthy is beset upon by Kamatar's arrow and Jack's crowbar.  He staggers!

And falls!  As Skeeter<purple> starts his patent-pending "walk up their right side", Mouthy comes tumbling down!  It seems he took a bit more of that fireball than anyone expected.  He crashes to the ground.

<purple>Cassandre
...your horns are a-tingle...

The house is burning quite nicely.  The entire first floor is ablaze at this point.  If anyone can come up with a nifty idea of extinguishing them, I'm all ears.

The villagers are forming a bucket brigade.

If anyone wants to rush in to try to find survivors, that is possible.  If you have something fire resistant.

Let me know.  Thanks

Bellinha ran into the building, heedless of the blaze that was the first floor.  There might be people in here.  Orus had a butler and some maids so even if he wasn't here they might be.

Bellinha coughed and continued to call out names.  She tried to use her Ray of Frost cantrip as something to try but it was the best that she could come up with at that moment.  If there was no one on the main floor, she would try to make her way to the second, and hopefully get some respite from the flames.

OOC:
Bellinha is running in, Damn the Torpedoes!  She doesn't have any fire resistance so I assume that she'll be taking damage.  She does have the Ray of Frost cantrip but I'm going to assume that it won't do much.

Cassandre moved closer, as close as she could to the house without feeling the burn on her cheeks that would break her concentration. She focused on her spell with renewed intensity, as she realised how important this was. She also felt stupid for fanning the flames with her own fireball; even if it was targeted outside, it certainly didn’t help.

In a trance, she mumbled for others to relay in a louder voice:
« Two people still in, maybe three… silent screams of anguish…
   One… back of the house… not loud…
The other one, or two… at the front… sitting room.
 They...they aren't very strong… »

Apollo the cat darted around the house, looking for other points of entry.

Jack checks Mouthy's pulse.  If he's alive, he ties him up.  If he's not, he runs for the back of the house, aiming to rescue the quiet one at the back by any means necessary.

Thinking quickly, Kamatar speaks to Cassandre, while quickly removing his weapons and other equipment, "Cassandre, please take care of my equipment for me while I go help save those people!"

Wearing only his clothing, a dagger, and some rope, Kamatar started heading towards the flaming door, using water from his waterskin to soak his blanket and covers himself with the wet blanket as he goes into the front of the burning building, heading for the sitting room, while listening for cries of distress.

So much bravery!  Kudos!

Bellinha, you plunge in through the wreckage of the front door.  The house is well and truly ablaze.  That tacky still life of a lighthouse in the hallway is a solid slab of inferno.  It tumbles off the wall and slams into the floor as you stumble past, Ray of Frosting the jinkins out of everything in your path.

Fortunately it's not far to the sitting room.  But the smoke...

Jack, Mouthy is dead.  You come around the back, spying an open door to what must be...have been...the kitchen.  It's open, but a large beam of some kind is blocking easy access.  You'd have to climb over it to get inside.  Smoke is billowing out from above.  But through it, you can see an old lady laying on the floor of the kitchen.  She seems to be trying to crawl to the doorway, but the smoke must have gotten to her.

Breya, you launch in just in time to seem Bellinha round a corner to the parlor.  You can see this place doesn't have long to go.  The ceiling is almost one big sheet of flames.  Kamatar<purple>, you see the same thing as you follow in behind her.

<purple>Bellinha
, you can see two people in the sitting room.  Orus and who you think might be the Widow Parkins.  They have both fallen and their clothes are on fire.

Okay.  Here is how we are going to do this.

You have two posts to get in and out before I start rolling for building integrity.  Each round you are inside the building, I will need a FORT save vs. 12 or the smoke goes to your head and you get the Dazzled and Stupefied conditions.  A second failed save and you pass out.

Jack, you will need to climb over that beam to get in through the back door.  It's not roll worthy, but you will take a post to do it.  And yes, that means a post to get out over it as well.

Map below in case it helps.  "Win" equals window.

Questions?

How are you working movement through the windows?  I'm thinking specifically of charging through the window in a very dramatic fashion as a means of quickly getting out of the building.  Just so that I have an idea of how to use my movement.

Let's go with a STR roll to break through them.  I mean, they're glass.  So it's just a matter of how long it will take you to get through them.  I'd say a STR check vs a target of 12.  Over it, and you can get through on the same turn.  Fail it, and you get through at the start of your next turn/post

Clear as mud?

As if she can read Bell's mind, Breya shakes her head.

"Don't even think about it.  There's a Breya coming through!"

She drops the door, and charges through the burning building like an out of control bovine herd.

It looks like Breya can make a move action and get to the nearer flaming Schrödinger's burn victim.  She does that, and the uses a standard action to Bull Rush the window.  I have Improved Bull Rush and Brawler archetype bonuses to Bull Rush.  I can push this glass from here to Nantucket.

Bellinha I love ya (literally, in the IC sense), but you're outclassed by the human bulldozer here.

Jack peed on his scarf and wrapped it around his mouth and nose before clambering over the beam to check on the old lady inside.  She was breathing, just about, probably, it wasn't like he'd checked and he dragged her to the window and swung his crowbar against it, trying to smash it.

Looks like I failed to answer Skeets.  Let me do that now

A little drib of potion drips from Bitey's chin...er...spine...er...whatever.

The little book gasps for air Skeeter.  It then says in perfect common...because mimics can speak common.  What?  Of course they can.  Shut up...Bitey gasps, "I...I can see a great light...oh...hold me closer tiny dancer!  Please!  Give me your hand so I can hold it as I depart this mortal coil!  Please!  Just put your fingers near my mouth!"

But...but...my dramatic scene...my moment of cinematic glory...  :)

Bellinha took quick stock of the situation, very quick, and eyed the window.  It was the quickest way out of the building without going back through the house.  Bell hadn't seen Breya come in afterwards, but she couldn't miss the woman rushing through the room to smash through the window.  That was what she had been planning but Breya was faster.  She had to smile at that.

Bellinha ran over to Orus and the Widow Parkins, covering her mouth with a hand.  She hefted her Uncle up.  "Breya!  I'll hand them to you through the window." she shouted.

Jack, I don't know what boy scout troop you were part of.  But they must have been hard core.

Too late, you notice the rain barrel by the side of the building Jack.  Maybe because you have pee breath now, you take out that window like a dwarf taking out a beer-and-BBQ buffet.  You hop through the window.  The old lady seems to still be alive.

Make one more Fort check for me Sir.  And you can pull her out the window.  No need for any other rolls.  You're strong enough for that.

Meanwhile, in the other room, Breya does her own dwarf/beer/BBQ buffet impression and smashes out a window.  Bellinha begins to drag over Orus.  Kamatar will probably be picking up the Widow Parkins.  The three of you make for the window....

Make me a FORT save each and you're done.  If you fail, you don't get out of the window in time.  If you do, good on you.

Thanks

Cassandre remained near the porch, heavily focused and scanning the house thoroughly for further signs of live thoughts. She hoped no one had departed already, for she would not be able to detect them…

She nodded when Kamatar left his bow and quiver at her side, not knowing much of what she’d do with it if someone tries to steal them. It was his most prized possession, she had to be careful with this!

The little wizard winced as she detected some very unconventional thoughts of peeing on one’s scarf; but then she realised what it was for and her own thoughts trailed to ”that was some quick thinking… had he been waiting for this moment??”

“Four more in the house for now… I need to keep track of them… one breath of smoke too many and you’re gone… someone go to the back and help Jack!”
She mumbled the last part as she realised the three firefighters in the front room would be able to help each other if one tripped over, but the tailor was by himself, with only his crowbar and an extinguisher hose that was not dimensioned for the magnitude of the task before him.

She briefly turned her attention to the people with buckets:
“Keep water to pour over people as they come out! Let the beams burn, who cares!”

Who put her in charge? She is not a qualified fire marshal! She didn’t even go to firefight college.

Kamatar dashes through the house, watching the motions and actions of the others. At the moment that the half-orc bent to pick up the Widow Parkins, he saw Breya smash through the window. Lifting the widow with care, he followed almost immediately behind her, holding the wet blanket around himself and his passenger.

Where She Stops, Nobody Knows!

The Salt Lickians are moving.  They've formed a bucket brigade, though it's too far from the shore to Orus' house.  The manor will just have to burn to the ground.

Moon arrives fairly quickly, a dwarf girl rushing after her carrying a several sacks.  Moon inspects the three victims and the rest of you.  She curses at the state Orus and Widow Parkins are in.

"I need to work quickly.  Here,"</red>  She gestures for the dwarf girl to give you one of the sacks Cassandre.  There are seven small bottles filled with purple liquid inside.  <pink>"Use those to treat the others.  Leave Orus and the Widow to me.  Move them over here!  Someone go get me as much clean cloth as you can!  Smuckly!  Take some men into the woods and find me all the pot marigold you can!"

She barks out orders and the Salt Lickians get a move on.  Moon and her new assistant labor over Orus and the Widow.

The three prisoners are rounded up quickly.

There are seven healing potions in the sack.  Each is a 4d8+7 healing potion.  You should use at least two on the servants you rescued.

Jack, you smell less like urine now.

"Guffaw!" guffaws Bitey after you're done speaking Skeeter"You promise me a banquet, but won't even give me the littlest of fingers?  Especially halfling fingers!  You guys are scrumptious!  How do I know you're going to provide? Huh?  No answer to that one, right?"

We can assume everyone gets out of the house.  I will give ya'll a chance to heal up and decide what you want to do at the moment.  Will move us along tomorrow.  Questions?  Thanks.  And good work.
