Re: OOC Community Chat 5
I have had time to reflect, and I am thinking of starting a new campaign on this world (with some revisions in the worldmaking). It would be starting as first level characters and involve political intrigue, mystery solving, as well as traditional D&D fighting and exploring elements.
Essentially, you would all start as students at an academy where the teachers were all (presumably all) killed. This starts one mystery thread that will extend through the game. There will be rumors of survivors in hiding, and people who will claim to be surviving teachers, etc., but in any case, due to your higher education and skills, the king has put a premium on your continued survival and assistance.
The first adventure would restart the one we had been working on with some tweaks. I really liked the mystery element to that but we never got that far into it.
Your current PCs could still be alive and "retired" or otherwise around to show up once in awhile--something we could work out--but you would primarily control the young students.
Does this sound like something you would be interested in? Honestly, running a high level campaign was difficult because there were always tons of magic or other loopholes to get through every situation, and too much for me to remember. I'm getting old. :) I started playing D&D in 1980.
If any of you are into this premise, I would start to advertise for some players. I usually like to start with 5-7 becaus 1 or 2 inevitably drop out and become fodder.
