Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

Everyone is on the island.  I think your plan is to take down the giants guarding the drow (2 giants) and then save the drow.  There are 4 other giants down below.  Whether they hear the battle and join you depends on how much noise you make.

Other giants on the shore have seen the boat and are arranging a party to chase it down.  Given the distance and your small size in comparison to the boat, you are not sure if they know it's an intruder, think it a ghost, or a boat that came untethered, but they will be coming soon.

The boat has long lengths of twine and rocks in it.

Given the general din at the shoreline that carries across the water, in addition to the lapping water and current, there is some background noise equivalent to about a normal person talking out loud.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

What kind of ground is it? Sandy, earthy, covered in grass or weeds? Basically, would Entangle be a valid spell to use on the island? Also does Kahan think it will have any sort of effect on the giants?

The ground is rocks and sand.  There are no plants here, though there are some by the arena area.  The roof of the building is brick.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

DM Heath:
Etag looks at the two elves.  "You speak the Ezren Tongue?  Impressive.  I will not harm you.  I am from the Order of the Bwael Bae'qeshel.  We depart from our brethren in many ways.  We seek good through the Ust Belbol -- the first gifts of magic."

Does Etag mean Elvish?  Is Ezren the same as Elvish?  So if I speak "Language Elvish" this would be Ezren to him?

I noticed Shapfren spoke in a language I don't understand.  Shapfren did you try to use "Language Ezren" instead of "Language Elvish"?

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

"Ezren" is an unknown word to all of you, though some of the more long term players may notice a striking resemblance to some other words/names in the past.

(He is actually referring to the Common Tongue.  He was surprised you could speak it.  My intended undertones to you were that you would realize "Common" isn't so common on Allevia.)

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

btw, I believe there was some confusion in the most recent post.  Last turn Borimer checked the west room, Shae the storage room where Etag was, and Kahan searched the east room while Tahldar bamboozled the Giants.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

DM Heath:
You open the giant trunk, which takes a little work because it is so large and heavy.  Inside, you find:

Giant-sized clothes;
Giant-sized utensils, bowls and cups;
Giant-sized boots;
A closed "pouch" of leather which is the size of a very large sack to you; it seems about half full of something;
Yet another closed pouch, but this one made of burlap, which also seems about half full.  It is stained dark all over the bottom.

I assume the burlap sack had the head and crown.  What was in the other?

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

Tahldar doesn't know that.  He was in another room.  :)  Actually, I have to check my notes.  It wasn't the key, though, if that's what you're asking.

When you say fades out I'm presuming you mean his voice fades out, not that he poofed on us, right?

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

Yes.  You guys are going down the stairs to the west.  He remains up as part of the guard in case the giants come down, so his voice trailed off as you left.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

I suggest we send someone fast for the key and GTFO of here. Of course we will be helping and all that, but this is the kind of thing you'd rather leave lose on the giants.

I don't believe they would last this long.  There's been a lot of stuff going on, including 2 battles, searching around, etc.

Does the evil skeleton thing appear to be the source of the slime? In the picture it looks like its covered in some sort of green liquid or smoke.

Yes.

In reply to Kahan Singh (msg # 69):

The thing is covered in the green acidic slime, but you can't tell if it is the source of the slime or if the slime is what animated it, like it animated the giant.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

In my view, since he was running scared in the middle to end of round 1, he will be returning to fight in the middle to end of round 2, and can fight in round 3.  We don't need to overdo the fear factor.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

Typically, yes, but as I told Borimer, I am combining the running away and running back to the end of the first round and all of the second round.  So you should be able to fight in round three if hit with the fear effect...this time.

Re: COMMENT THREAD 3

For clarity I think I am in D3.  I would like to retreat back a few squares and possibly cast web using the wall of flame to immediately ignite it (2d4 pts of damage to any who are caught in it).  Web creates 8 10'x10' cubes and can be moved around to fit odd shapes, though it must anchor to two opposing points.

I would need to cast it such that the web contacts the wall and as many enemies as possible without touching one of us.  It's hard to tell where the enemies and we are so I am not sure if this can be done.

Is this possible?
