Flying into a rage at the sound of the gong, Ugrim charges is larger opponent and literally calls his new weapon, A Nodachi, swiftly into his hands as he runs.

When he arrives at Brakt's feet, Ugrim lays into the giant with the ferocity of a lion, throwing multiple strikes at him - including a biting attack from Ugrim's razor sharp teeth.

Somehow though, even with ugrim's all out attack, he still manages to fight in a defensive stance.

Brakt didn't have a chance to react as the charging brute came crashing across the arena.  Shrugging off the blow, the Ogre turned his attention onto the barbarian, rather then attempting an outright blow, he turned attack the new weapon, easily destroying the Nodachi, and then watching as his poisoned speat stabs into Ugrim's side.

I calculated your Nodachi at 23 HP, and 22 Hardness, of which I ignore 20, so you take 18 damage this round?

re-read the rules for adamantium weapons and you'll find something very interesting.

not "adamantium weapons ignore up to 20 hardness," but "adamantium weapons ignore hardness less than 20." So anything hardness 19 or less is ignored, hardness 20 and above is counted and reduces damage normally.

but as for my nodachi's actual hardness and HP, it currently functions as a +3 nodachi while i'm raging and being made of adamantium, this means my nodachi is resting comfortably at 26 hardness and 43 hp

so in all actuality, my nodachi only takes 9 damage and I take no damage at all. :)

And yes, i did make my weapon adamantium specifically to counter sunderers like you. nice try though. ;P

(and even if you did happen to get through my weapon and armor, my DR 11/- would have completely negated all that damage.)

Oh, and also, also, you stated nowhere in your rolls or your original post that you were using power attack so that extra +9 is void but you can have your +3 back to your attack rolls though. ;).

So yes, it does ignore the hardness 20 and below :P

I did forget to say power Attack,  so go ahead and take my original rolls.

This means that at 6 Hardness, I dealt 17 and 16, or 33 damage total to the Nodachi.

This means your Nodachi is broken, and you have a -2 on attack rolls, with crits only on a natural 20.

Well, that could certainly be worded a little bit better, but looks like its there all right. Silly arena house rules messing with my core rules interpretations. :P

Ugrim's steel clashes with Brakt's and Ugrim's weapon begin's to break under the pressure. However, his mighty nodachi still remains usable. Roaring in anger, Ugrim unleashes three more powerful attacks, completely ignoring any defensive strategy he may have in favor of hammering away with his still functional nodachi.

Brakt could feel his life slipping away.  Changing tactics, he launched a full assualt at the Barbarian raging in front of him.  He skewers his spear through the monster, dealing a massive blow, though he knows he is going to die anyway.

Ugrim takes a powerful strike to his neck where Brakt injects him with some kind of venom that even he has some difficulty fighting off. Feeling his strength begin to fail, even while in his furry, Ugrim let's Brakt feel his full might and strikes with unrelenting rage.

Dealing a decisive first strike, the giant begins to crumble as ugrim's attack deals a lethal blow.
As Brakt's limp body falls, Ugrim swipes at the giant's neck and severs it from the body and finishes his strikes by cating the head and taking a good bite our of it -  like one would do with an apple.

Ugrim reigns victorious over his larger foe but not without the scars to prove it.
