Re: OOC Discussion 8

Speaking of frostbite in the rules thread, I find it annoying how bad wording paizo has made around fatigued ^^
Conditions:
A fatigued character becomes exhausted by doing something else that would normally cause fatigue.

But what if you're not doing something that causes fatigue - what if someone else is magically fatiguing you? Does it work then?
Well, in some cases it is explicitly written that it doesn't work like that:
Frostbite:
This spell cannot make a creature exhausted even if it is already fatigued.

Which is quite clear. But in other cases:
Ray of Exhaustion:
A character that is already fatigued instead becomes exhausted.

*sigh*
Well, maybe the Ray thing is just to not create confusion regarding the save for partial. I dunno, is this clear to everyone else? Or confusing like it is to me? If character X makes character Y fatigued, and Y was already fatigued, does Y then become exhausted? (Or does Y have to exert themselves to exhaustion?)

Re: OOC Discussion 8

So, going through the ARG, I realised that my Ogre is wrong.

Large size already gives me +2 Str and -2 Dex, which I never included in my sheet.  As well, my AC is only 2, not 2+1.

Anyone else out there using an unusual race, it might be worth double checking to ensure you've got exactly what you're supposed to have.

Re: OOC Discussion 8

11:17, Today: Josep Gavinho rolled 4 using 1d4+1 with rolls of 3.  Time stop Rounds Count.
Haha, while making one post in this arena does often take a lot of time and energy... Certain things do make it worse. Bringing one or more companions into the fight was the worst, I thought, up until now. Taking 5 turns instead of one must surely be even worse.

Still up for a match?  The monster hunt's not happening until after the Belt and Juggernaut battles anyway.  If we can find someone to ref I figure just the 2 of us can get through a fight before those end.

It’s a bit unfortunate to have two battles with such overlap in participants, at the same time... I’ll try to finish you guys quickly in the juggernaut ;)

Re: OOC Discussion 8

Note to all combatants, I Latro Dectus, following the championship match and my promised match to Grunyar, will be taking a break from arena matches to pursue the glory of templates for the benefit of the arena (and also myself. mostly myself)
I'll still be free to ref matches as that doesn't take up nearly as much energy as participating in matches themselves.

But, i guess if i actually do win the championship i'll be at the mercy of whomever wants to challenge me for the belt. :P

Dammit Vry.

Obviously Lyn needs a higher spellcraft check. :\  I blame working on Brakt's championship to getting caught up with that trap.

My head still hurts, stupid pillar.

Haha, I realized right after posting with that spell that if you'd roll spellcraft and identify it - it would all be for nothing! But then you didn't roll at all. Such a relief :)

Okay, so heads up.  I've successfully cast miracle/got 2 days off in a row.

Since I'm not usually on while not at work, I may unfortunately be delayed in posting to Champ and Jug matches :(  I will try and find time on my phone, though formatting might suffer.

Will definitely have a post up for both around 5pmAEST Wednesday at the latest though (About 66 hours from now)

Haha, shizzle, it's Lyn next in the jug! Oh well, it's not much more than 48h until the time you've stated, I'll give it an extra 12h or so before I call 48h - you should make it with that!

Re: OOC Discussion 8

I'm suddenly aware of the fact that we can variant multiclass instead of standard multiclass if we so choose.

The only problem is i almsot cant find a reason to give up half my feats in place of some other class's abilities.

... almost

It would be an extremely experimental build...

like, i wouldn't continue with it if it didn't work but...

man i've got too many places i want to take Latro and none of them are in the same direction.

Edit: Also, seeing as templates are being allowed into the arena in basically the same way i was planning on using them originally, i guess that means Latro will not be taking a break from the arena to help incorporate templates as a BP cost so he'll be free to lay down some pain as he builds his power once more.

@Vry thanks. I'll have a post up ASAP probably this time or an hour later tomorrow

@Championship rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated, and I'll have a post up tomorrow :) just so Latro doesn't take his turn.

Re: OOC Discussion 8

The Pathfinder Arena:
Spell (Magic Missile)
This spell now requires the caster to make a ranged touch attack against each target. Each attack ignores concealment and ignores any cover less than total cover (so long as the caster knows what space to target as per line of sight or a successful Perception check). Each attack is not fooled by mirror image or similar spells and the shield spell does not automatically negate magic missiles. However, certain effects force a magic missile to target normal AC instead of Touch AC including any abjuration [force] spells active on the target (such as the shield spell) or any [force] effects blocking the caster's line of effect to the target.

Reworded for clearer intent. Good call Boa.

I tell you what...

I thought that combat while flying was confusing... That's got nothing on combat while burrowing. Especially when creatures have the ability to burrow through different things.

I thought I was clever the first time I used it, but I now wish it was banned plain and simple.
There’s virtually no explanation as to what happens underground (compared to rules on underwater or airborne combat...)
