Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

Haran saw the spell coming and grinned. "Ah fireball - classic." Haran thought. But if the wizard could cast that spell, he must be above ground somewhere. "Come out come out wherever you are. I will find you." Haran thought as he scanned the arena.

DICE: 20:51, Today: Haran Madar rolled 38 using 1d20+18 with rolls of 20.  Minion reflex v. fireball.

Minions: HP 101/123

Summary: Minion takes half after succeeding

OOC: Obviously can't roll a perception as its not my turn but I will.

Sorry I should have made that public, it was in a pm to Boa.
The Fireball was aimed at the intersection of D2-C3, 15ft from ground.
Haran, you didn’t roll for yourself, is that correct?

Sorry I’m on my phone again.
Positions for Do, e1 and e3 are accurate in their stat blocks.
For e2 I can’t tell.

I’ll update the map if I can get my hands on a personal computer (probably not within the next 6h though)

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

Latro smiled from underneath his invisible mask. Haran's magic was strong, but it would take much more than paltry mind effects to break his will. Latro was almost tempted to seek out Haran himself. However, there was still much prep work to be done and he was quite pleased seeing the remaining competitors fight amongst one another. Yes, Latro would bide his time for that, contrary to what the Wizard might think, was the only thing on his side at this moment.
Speaking of the wizard, where was that blasted Josep anyways?

No matter.

From the sky above strikes a bolt of red energy that many in the arena have come to know as one of Latro's signature abilities: The empowering of his blade with demonic energy. But where the bolt lands is a mystery, given it's wide berth. Clearly the demons on Latro's side are aware that he still needs his position hidden.

07:15, Today: Latro Dectus rolled 33 using 1d20+20 with rolls of 13.  DC23 will save vs Haran's thing.
07:24, Today: Latro Dectus rolled 39 using 1d20+38 with rolls of 1.  Stealth (-25 from less than full movement). (Treat this roll as 5 lower than indicated)
07:26, Today: Latro Dectus rolled 17 using 1d20+7 with rolls of 10.  DC 10 half speed flying.

SUMMARY: Latro call his fiendish boon and remains hidden.

OOC: Just as a note, Fiendish Boon is a spell-like ability so it doesn't actually produce any flashy lighting effects or require me to do anything other than mentally activate the ability. All that red lighting is purely for flavor and doesn't mechanically effect my stealth rolls. I just really like flavoring Fiendish Boon this way.

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

Quick question, your stealth skill is normally +63, reduced to +38 because of the -25, is that correct?
That seems incredibly high I must say... but stranger things have happened.

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

I flubbed that roll. (probably)
My base stealth bonus is a +18
With max invisibility bonus, my stealth is a 58.
When i move it comes out to 38
If i move more than half but less than full its an additional -5 for a 34.
I just forgot to knock off the extra 5 when i rolled.

Now considering that technically i only moved half my current speed given my current benefits, of which i will list to boadicea, i'm honestly not sure if my bonus should actually be as listed at +38 or reduced by 5 to 34.
either way, i rolled a 1 so i know noone is going to let me re-roll that with correct mods.

In reply to Latro Dectus (msg # 259):

34 is correct more what I was referring to is that you are only receiving a -5 not -25 you only get +20 from stealth because of movement not +40 with a -20 for moving

Also you only get a +19 to will not +20

Not to be pernickety, but 38 minus 5 is 33 (not 34).

I'm fine with your keeping the 1 you rolled and applying the correct modifier ;)

My bad on that. Haran, what do you want me to do with that will save seeing as its your effect i'm saving against.

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

Haran could sense Josep’s presence and he smiled. He then looked at the elementals who were swinging wildly. These people clearly had no idea what was going on here. He laughed silently to himself. The sowing of chaos and mystery, this was Haran’s element.

Now, where was that antipaladin? Haran had seen neither head nor hide of that individual since the match began. No matter. “Perhaps we should attack the wizard. We know where he is,” the voice said.

Haran squinted as he was deep in thought. He was feeding of the confusion and chaos of the battlefield “Not yet. Let me enjoy this just a bit more,” he thought.

Haran cast a couple of spells. Again a globe of blacklight formed in the arena. If these fools wish to fight me, they’ll do it on my terms.
