Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

In reply to Boadicea (msg # 416):

If minion was a medium creature, it would be +9 but minion is a huge creature (3x3), so wouldn't that make it's standing position +7 at max?

Also, if it is wall of force, I'm pretty sure there can't be a 'hole.'

quote:
The caster can form the wall into a flat, vertical plane whose area is up to one 10-foot square per level. The wall must be continuous and unbroken when formed. If its surface is broken by any object or creature, the spell fails.

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

“Latro your defeat was not your fault. It was written in the stars long ago.” Now for that wizard. Haran was mildly surprised when the earth elementals made a beeline toward two specific areas of the arena he didn’t want them to be. “Pity Haran.”

“I’m glad you’re so sympathetic.”

No matter. Just have to find the wizard. “Josep, it’s you and I as it should be. And then it will just be I.”

“Show yourself wizard.”

The darkness floated to where Haran knew Josep to be and attacked but he ran into a wall.

Lol, if you beat me here Haran may even join your guild. The one thing Haran respects is power :)

But yes, we must fight again after this.

Boadicea can confirm, but I can too. What ever is in Q7 is still there. What was in C2 is wherever you moved it.

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

"This is getting close to an end, isn't it..." the wizard ponders, half bitter half hopeful.

Josep's Elementals attack, and he enjoys the show. He also casts a spell, with no apparent effect.

Haran will move up and down and all around trying to find an opening.

"So close." he murmurs. "So close." He tries to find a way through the wall. "This is the last time I feel sorry for a wizard."

"hahahahahaha" The voice was enjoying the show too.

OOC: Also, I think you cast Scorching Ray during round 9 but it’s not reflected in your spell usage.

You have 5 level 6 spells available for a level 14 Wizard? I thought you would only have 3 + any from a high ability score? Granted maybe you have an item or class ability that gives you extra. Unless, when you use an potion/scroll/etc., you include that in your spell used, which would actually make sense.

3 daily, +1 from intelligence, +1 from specialisation

I got confused though, I cast two 5th level spells in round 11, and have one 6th level spells left.

And I did use a Scorching Ray which was not updated in my uses, sorry about that.

Josep finishes a spell, and invites more friends to the party, they are nowhere to be seen.

"How long will this last?" Josep asks.

Josep's Elementals attack, and he enjoys the show.

In reply to Boadicea (msg # 437):

Just a quick question for Boadicea: I think to use summon monster you would have to have line of effect...so it can't be cast past the wall of force...if you cast it on your side of the wall - you are good.

If you tried to cast it on my side of the wall, the spell fails :)

Re: Championship #15: Battle for the Belt

Just my two cents here, but if players can't take a five foot step across the corner of a wall, such as from R2 to S3, would the same not also be true for continuous walls of force? Would the corner not be considered breaking the continuous unbroken path of the wall thus resulting in a failed wall of force?

It’s obviously not...that Latro would go there doesn’t surprise me, but you Haran? ;)

If you need an explanation, the wall is an inch thick and stands proud of the masonry angle by a few inches.
With the area of wall available, it could even be a full foot from the angle and still be long enough to bridge from wall to wall and be airtight on both sides.
