Svog hisses at the creatures and beats a hasty retreat back to his master. Quickly conveying to his master in their own personal language what He has seen, Opal noticeably grimaces at the mention of such loathsome creatures.

"It just had to be fallen angels, didn't it?" Opal sighs. Stepping next to the wall, she procures a set of tools taken from a timeline variant of herself in which she was a catfolk and also a man in his early 20s. Hopefully that timeline had no more need for "Master Opal" and his lockpicking rouge-like swagger because he was dead now and his skills were now hers.

With a silent click, the wall opens and Opal forges a new path for her ally to venture towards her. "Make haste, Somatra. And save your poison. It won't work on these Devils."

There are scraping sounds coming from everywhere, foot steps, something being scratched against a wall. Around a corner, moving carefully, appears neither an angel nor a demon, nor even a person. Two footless, thin legs rest against the ground, obviously not able to carry the swollen body above them. The whole being seems to be composed of energies, or ectoplasm, or something - it's as if the wind slowly flying through the tunnels materialise as they reach this very location, then moments later fly on to be replaced. The being glows purple and white, and light especially radiates from the eyes of the shapeless head. Attempting to count the arms while they grow out of the body, meld back in, vanish with the wind, and appear out of thin air is not easy - but five arms seem to be present at most times. How that being even is able to produce a voice is beyond you, but it seems to be attempting to speak.
"Aaaaa." The soft male voice creates no words of any language you recognise, and doesn't seem to be an actual production of sound limited by the laws of nature and magic, but to transfer from the wind blowing around you. "Uuuuurrrrrrrr."

I know Somatra has a readied action but i'm going to go ahead and make some knowledge check really quick in anticipation for my next turn while i wait to se if she uses her readied.

though honestly, I suggest you hold the readied action so you can still take your turn before all these things are suddenly next to us and ripping us apart.

@Somatra, sorry about this, but I dont particularly want 48 called on me and i'm unsure if the 48 ould be on you because of your readied action or on me cause its my turn.

Opal casts a spell on the three of them and another spell on Somatra in particular. she then moves south away from the foe made of dreams and nightmares. "We need to move as fast as we can away from that thing, Somatra. Incorporeal foes are not something I'm ready to try and deal with right now."

Svog follows his master only until just after somatra. His hands begin to shimmer with basic magic but he appears to wait for Somatra to move before doing anything.

Somatra Looks over the floating nightmare behind her.  "That's going to be problematic."  Feeling Madam Opal's spell take effect she takes a shot before stepping back and darting to the right.

Svog's Readied action: Cast Open/Close on the wall after Somatra leaves the space.

Svog, seeing that somatra has left the space she was originally in, lets some minor magic fly, closing the wall behind them shut once more.

It would't really slow the incorporeal foe down, but that angel/demon thing would have to find a new way forward if it decided to follow the dream monster.




And finally, just a bit of housekeeping as far as Opal's spells go.
somatra currently gets a +4 morale bonus on attack rolls, saves, and skill checks, immunity to fear effects, and 11 temporary hit points from Greater Heroism.
In addition Svog, Opal, and Somatra are all hasted. As far as I'm aware, the bonus haste provides to saves and attack rolls does in fact stack with Greater Heroism's increase.

So somatra, just remember to increase all your non-flat forms of AC by 1 and add 11 temporary hit points to your life total.

The wind whines as the arrow flies straight through the alien being. If it is hurt by it or not is impossible to judge due to the bizarre mannerisms of the creature. It is even hard to tell if it is aware of its surroundings at all at this point. But then, behind it, another creature comes walking. A man, thin as if starved for weeks, dressed in ragged clothes of too large sizes. He twitches as he walks, his shoulders bobbing awkwardly and not in any familiar way in rhythm with his feet. His arms hang down by his sides and long, claw-like nails extend from hands pointing out towards the walls just below his hips. His old shoes barely stay on his feet as he walks, and make a rasping sound against the floor.

There's a familiar yet very unsettling clicking from one of the walls by Opal, and it opens upp to reveal the corridors behind it, and another man like the one who just came walking from the north. Then there are sounds from the other side of Opal, and a being with long, dirty hair hanging down to her knees, walking in that strange, alien, twitching fashion; approaches. With one quick motion, she has sunk her teeth into Opal - and the bite does not hurt much, but the draining cold which comes after does. The being looks at her, expressionless. She speaks with words of an ancient, dark language, but the words become understandable in the ears of those who hear them. "You are not welcome." A third thin and ragged being, nearly indistinguishable as an individual from the others appears, moves past the wall-opener, grabs Opals arm - but just as it is about to sink its teeth into her, she pulls her arm away.

   SUMMARY: All of the monsters close in on Opal. Rreti opens a wall behind her. At-vat comes from the other side, bites Opal for 5 damage and 2 dexterity drain unless Somatra turns out to be blocking the way (went through D13 from the eastern side of the wall to the east of Opal) in which case things have to change. Nambtand moves into the square where the wall was opened, misses the attack. Urr moves from the north, fails to disable device. Also none of them has the typical look of a fallen angel, nor of an animate dream.

Now you all may be curious about what spell Josep is going to step in and cast here. And I am too, cuz I don't know either. This is the plane of dreams, who knows what will happen here!

Did Urr not take damage?  I know it doesn't take damage from nonmagical weapons, but the bow if magic and if nothing else that 1 little point of cold damage is pure magical damage.

A few bullet points before we go forward and I respond to all this.

First: Unless these monsters have a way to use disable device as a standard action, disabling a lock is a full round action. So they would have to move to the lock and then spend the next entier round opening it.

Second: is there not a save vs the dexterity drain? Shouldn't there be according to arena rules?

- What Somatra attacked was an illusion.
- Didn’t know it was a full round action. So no one had time to try and open it then, Nambtand stops in D8.
- Yes. DC19 Fort save reduces drain to 1.

ugh, just 1 shy of making the save. that sucks.

Opal reals in pain as her old ages manifest once more and her limbs begin to lock up. The creatures were hiding what they were somehow. Illusion magic for certain. she would need to see with eyes unclouded. But what then of her ally. Somatra would need to know she was actually striking a valid target. Opal resolved to tough it out a bit longer and get to Somatra before the rest of the creatures could get to her. Suddenly, a brilliant plan popped into Opal's mind.

She began wracking her brain for any clue as to what these things could actually be while recalling everything she could about the Dimension of Dreams where they found themselves. then, she called upon the power of her Patron and began to float off the ground. "Svog! To me!"
her dinosaur scampered over to his master and latched onto her with his teeth and claws.
Then, up she flew over her attacker and into the hall where Somatra had gone before plopping herself back on the ground.

Yeah my bad... I have listed them (probably at least one per round) as moving and doing disable device several rounds though, too bad no-one was attentive enough to find my mistake earlier :/

Hearing her partner's trouble, Somatra dashed back the way she'd come.  Blitzing past one of the monsters she grabs Opal's arm with one hand and the scruff of the little familiar's neck with the other.  "I hope you realize this is the only time I can do this." she says before the three of them blink through the shadows.  Somewhere in the darkness she motions Madam Opal to stay silent as they wait and see what the creatures will do.

One of the beings spins around, its teeth catching Somatra's arm!

Missed AoO on Madam Opal, hit on Somatra (28 to hit) for 6 damage and 4 dexterity drain. If Somatra makes a DC19 fortitude save, the drain is reduced to 1.

The monsters watch and listen for the enemies (free at the start of turn). At-vat's 34 perception vs your stealth +1 per 10ft distance. (Opal doesn't have a stealth check, so is that auto-pinpoint?)
