I just realised, the Championship Belt is an artefact, thus immune to measly Antimagic Field by puny Alice in Wonderland monsters... I should have brought it instead of leaving it on the mantelpiece at the Guild House...

I’m sorry, but I need to ask again.

Arkrim, please hear me out before you shut me down.

I understand from your ruling that Antimagic Field doesn’t allow a save.

As an automatic effect that creates a negative condition (unable to casts spell, suppressed magic items and ongoing spells) shouldn’t it be banned? Or adapted the same way Waves of Fatigue and Magic Missile was?

Antimagic field will make Josep lose 80hp. Which is fine, it’s a clever move. But that I don’t get a save against an automatic effect seems to go against every rule you’ve set up in the arena.

Before you answer, appreciate that this will go beyond a suicide monster hunt and become a ruling on anti magic field.

Please charge me whatever BP you deem appropriate for that request.

That's 1 foul for Josep for arguing. First one is just a warning.

I've already fixed this once...three times total actually, I'm not to be bothered on it again for this match.



No, Josep, you don't get charged BP for putting requests in a match, you get a 3 strikes and you're disqualified for arguing if you do so during a match after a ruling.

If you want to pay BP to make rule request changes, you do so in the Inquiries and Proposals thread. But I'm not going to fix things for you mid-battle. You're going to have to wait until your match is over.

I've edited some of my actions in light of new information. I hope that is ok.

 Josep immediately recognized some of the monsters they were facing, or at least some of their features... and he gasped.
 This was not what he had signed up for! And Jayce had managed to convince him that a suicidal challenge could be a piece of cake...

 He moves briskly to his guild mate, and cast two spells in quick succession to provide some resilient though temporary shelter.
  "I trust you have the right summon for that?" he asked the summoner.

Yes you can be in same square as force wall provided it is on the outline of the square not in the middle of it.

As for the beasts knowing where the wall is Jonny and Jenny are touching it so they know, if you had put it at least 5' (1 cube) away then I would agree none know of it's existence.

Lyn, baring something you all see I missed you should be good to go

Frightful Presence (Ex):
This special quality makes a creature’s very presence unsettling to foes. Activating this ability is a free action that is usually part of an attack or charge. Opponents within range who witness the action may become frightened or shaken. The range is usually 30 feet, and the duration is usually 5d6 rounds. This ability affects only opponents with fewer Hit Dice than the creature has. An opponent can resist the effects with a successful Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the frightful creature’s racial HD + the frightful creature’s Cha modifier; the exact DC is given in the creature’s descriptive text). An opponent that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to that same creature’s frightful presence for 24 hours. On a failed save, the opponent is shaken, or panicked if it has 4 Hit Dice or fewer. Frightful presence is a mind-affecting fear effect.


I have 17 HD. I'm pretty sure I would only be shaken. Now, I forgot to post my correct Will Save, so I'll go ahead and be shaken. But in no way am I frightened.

Also, Does that frightful presence even work? can the 'presence' pass through the barrier? I know a Gaze attack works but does the frightful presence?

You also did not roll a duration. You just used a duration. must roll 5d6.

I’m shaken as well. Not of fear, mind you, it’s actually old age catching up with me.
I think Do would be shaken too, unless you see a reason why he should be panicked.

 Boa, I imagine you are referring to C3 as an invalid target to summon a creature into, but the Antimagic Field merely suppresses the effect of the spell, it does not prevent casting, nor does it dispel or counter the spell.

 As such a creature could be summoned in the zone, but would "wink out" as per the spell description until it exits the antimagic field (or the field moves away).

 I'll get my post in later tonight.
