With the wall of bone finally gone, Tiaca is free from it's boney grasp and makes her way northward towards Latro and Josep along with her familiar.

OOC: So, here's the thing. You are obviously stalling and have been for a number of rounds. I know it, you know it, I'm sure Boadicea knows it and quite frankly, there should be a rule against this specific kind of stalling. Fortunantly for you, one doesn't exist so you've been able to dance around it until now. As it stands, however, you have the power to make it to where you are able to attack me by removing the force sphere. That, in my book, means that you are very much capable of attacking me or my cohorts. That's Boadicea's decision though. Either way, I look forward to cutting you down.

Latro shatters the Force sphere in a single blow and though it disappears, Latro's mount remains in the air. It steps down in the air only slightly and Latro continues his furious assault on Josep. Unfortunately, because of his highly defensive posture on his mount, none of his attacks actually connect with the Wizard.

Tiaca and Avi, likewise, rush in to to all they can to hinder the mage.

Tiaca commands Josep halt in place but his mind was far to strong for such simple magics.

Avi invades his personal space and starts gnawing on his ankles, giving Latro the extra boosty he will need to strike Josep down in the coming rounds.

 Latro indeed triggers Josep's readied action.

 After Latro's first attack, as the emergency force sphere receives its final blow, Josep casts a spell and winks out of existence, leaving only a dagger on the ground behind him.

 Unbeknownst to Latro (but we're playing hidden on the map), he instantly reappears at the far side of the arena.

So firstly, i'd like Bo to confirm that you've prepared at least one readied action to attack in the past 3 rounds, otherwise i'm calling you out for stalling.

Secondly, i'd like to point out that Readied actions let you prepare only one action. You have taken two, as free actions are listed under the kinds of actions that one is allowed to prepare and nowhere does it say you're allowed to preform any kind of free action aside from a 5-foot step.

That will Leave Bo to decide if your readied action is to drop your dagger or if your action is to cast teleport and it fizzles because you can't complete to somatic components for it. I'm hoping for the latter option as i'm willing to bet you never listed "drop dagger" as part of the readied action.

I’ll abide by your wishes, and will keep the dagger in hand.
Teleport has no somatic component :)

Seriously though, a free action can be taken at any time, including in the midst of a readied action. I actually regretted writing that in when I realised I didn’t need to, but I thought it would be cheeky to not drop the dagger when I said I would.

Oh, so Teleport does. Nevertheless, I still need confirmation from Bo that you've readied at least one attack action in the past three turns unless you want to show me what those readied actions were up till now.

And technically speaking, only immediate actions can be taken at any time. Free actions have a reasonable limit on when they can be taken and the wording of readied actions implies that you've only readied the one action to be taken, considering free actions are listed as the things you could take as a readied action.


As for what Latro does, I'll get to work on that as I wait for Bo to determine if you're officially stalling or not.

So considering josep is not actively using stealth, because using stealth is a move action or part of a move action and josep used a standard action, the DC to locate him is -10 + 25 + other modifiers. (Other modifiers being +11-ish from distance and -20 from casting a spell)

This brings his stealth to a solid 6-ish.

Even if we let him use his stealth check, it would come out to a 19. far less than my 39 i just rolled. Prepare to be found.

As soon as The sphere shatters, josep is gone, as predicted. He's better at running than he is at winning championships at this point.

With his current plan foiled, Latro listens carefully and hears the sound of the wizard appearing at the other end of the arena. Digging his spurs into his mount's side, he forces it to move slightly faster than normal, getting him to the other end of the arena in only a few seconds.

Once more, Josep has come face to face with the anti paladin but this time, he has boxed himself in and has found himself inside Latro's Anti-Arcane Magic field.

The free perception check given by the arena is at the beginning of your turn not middle.  Your perception check would require a move action

I will use my move action for that perception check then.

My mount will not be spurred as a result and will instead use a double movement action to make it to josep, meaning it will not be taking a standard action to take total defence.

Is this acceptable?

  Josep seems almost resigned... he takes the first hit like it doesn't even matter, even though the pain from the combined effect of necromancy and devilish fire is excruciating. It drains him of most of his life, he has but a drop of blood left in his arteries...

 But then as Latro strikes again, his blade goes through nothing, and Josep has vanished again... not for long though.

So I'm seeing that you just rolled a 1 on a concentration check.
1s were automatic failures in the arena before the rules shift back to RAW.
And moreover, you're within my source severance while your trying to concentrate meaning your caster level is lower than it actually is and, at the minimum reduction of 5, results in a failed roll anyways, though i think the full reduction of 11 is applicable considering that you are inside the field.

finally, that's two rounds i'm seeing where you did not attempt to attack. I'm guessing round 26 you prepared an attack of some kind so regardless of if you just poofed away or not, you will need to make an attack of some kind next round, assuming you're still alive by then, which i'm guessing you won't be.

Boadecia, I'm calling on you to be the arbiter of this.
Is the game finally over because Josep failed his concentration check due to Natural ones and reduced caster levels?

Does your source severance also dispel my Foretell class feature?
Because I just realised I forgot to include that in my concentration check.

I don’t remember concentration checks auto-failing on a natural 1, but that may have been the case. Rules changed often and without warning so I’ve lost track.

Let me grab what source severance says again for reference

so yeah, it would suppress any spell, spell like, or supernatural effect produced by any arcane casting class. considering we're in the old rules, it reduces the effective caster level by 11 or 5 if no SR is allowed.

Now, i'm more than happy with you forgetting to add that bonus to your roll, but that's not my decision anymore and falls to Bo again.

But i suppose that won't matter if a natural 1 on a concentration check results in an automatic failure.

I do not remember the auto fail on concentration check and have not found any match where it was quoted.

So we will go with default rules also Josep needs a second check for the damage I believe it was DC (15+1/2 damage).
