Those are clever, and so are some of the other props. I seem to remember a Miskatonic coat of arms with a different Latin motto Ex luce in tenebris or the like.

Re: For the hard working Mythos hunter
One of the things I appreciated at RPG cons was when scenario authors came up with cool props, with that little extra making it more fun.  It needn't be fancy.  One con that i remember, they started on a Thursday evening, not a lot of players there until the next night, we had a hotel room all to ourselves and the game was lit by candles with low mood music in the background.  You could see everything at the table, but everything beyond our chairs was darkness.  We were set in a museum at night after closing, and it was scary.  Definitely fun.

It does sound fun. At one time I bought recordings of background sounds --storms, desert sands etc. etc. However, I did not get a chance to use them.

Family Visit
I have family visiting Thursday through Monday, so being online will be sparse if at all.

Re: Thanksgiving
Happy holiday to all, Fortunately where we are in WV is only getting the edge of the storm. We expect to get to my father-in-law's for Thanksgiving dinner and back safely before things get too nasty. I hope everyone else is safe too.

Please see my OOC message in the KoY game.  I plan to return to posting for both games in January.

Same here, although I am reading a collection of Edgar Allen Poe's "poe"try.  OK, but I'm not a huge poetry aficionado.

Re: Happy New Year
I am scheduled to be in London March 8 through March 24. My B&B does not have a computer for guests.  In theory, my IPhone can access RPOL --it works from here, anyway. But if I fall silent, the GM can do what seems best with my character till I return.

Long time, no posts
Since I'd rather not have this game go into the scrap bucket just yet, I should've been updating it every so often to prevent automated scripts from taking it to the Deleted category.  As it turns out, this game has not been deleted, but easily could have been.

If you're reading this post and are possibly interested in getting this game going again, be sure to leave a reply.  I can't promise frequent updates, but I should be able to post occasionally.

Thanks for reading this, if anyone actually does.

Thanks for your reply.  I've sent an email to the player of Tyler since he didn't see this message in a week.  We'll see if he is still interested.

Because of planned family visiting (prepping, them being here, and post-visit recovery), I am unlikely to be able to post from now through Monday, May 16.

Restart
Thanks for checking in, William and Tyler.

I decided to restart the CoC game first since it has been delayed much longer than KoY.  If you have any questions about what's going on, you can either look over the old posts or ask me and I'll fill you in where I can.

Everyone involved in the investigation is currently at the barn for the reading of the grimoire spell.  It is past sundown and getting dark.  William just cast a counterspell to make the gate closing spell readable.  He's a bit foggy and will continue to be for a half hour longer most likely.

Restart
I am sorry I was off RPOL  longer than expected. While I was at the SCA 50th anniversary, my wife took the opportunity to get the computer fixed, and that took longer than expected, so even when I got back it was several days before I had a home computer. I am available to continue in both games now.
