Walking in the LIght
Whitecloaks proclaim that they Walk in the Light and serve the Light by finding and removing those who walk in the shadow and serve the Dark.  The hate the Aes Sedai and call them witches. However there are those, who after the Whitecloaks have left or behind their backs view these men as less that Servants of the Light they proclaim themselves to be.  These others say that Whitecloaks see darkness in differences and inventing things that they do not find, to back their claims. Yet there are some amongst even the Whitecloaks that begin to see the Light.  Orenshide is one of the rare ones among these men.

Re: Walking in the LIght
There was once when I thought serving the Light meant nothing more than putting Darkfriends to the Question.  There was a time when the very meaning of my existence revolved around rooting out witches and Darkfriends.

And then came Alyssa... she was just another Darkfriend to be uncovered at first.  The stories she told, unbelievable at the beginning eventually shown to be truth.  It began with the absurdity that Children themselves served the Shadow!  I still laugh at the thought, though my doubts have overwhelmed me, my training forces me to deny it on some unconscious level.

That poor girl, I wrought the unspeakable measures against her... little by little she spoke of undeniable truths that came to pass as her unfortunate days dwindled.  I believe she was a true Foreteller, but I did not see the Light soon enough to save her.

So I am now doomed to travel alone in this world, forsaking all that I knew to be true.  Wandering the world, burdened with knowledge none should have, I have new purpose... sad though it is.

Re: Walking in the LIght
Orenshide packs up his meager belongings and a traveller's pack to begin his long road toward Whitebridge.  Having his time limit and desperate mission to accomplish, he travels as quickly as he can.

Re: Walking in the LIght
You make your way south toward Whitebridge, You have a time span of when these women you seek will be in Whitebridge but to be safe you move as quickly as you can. to make sure you are in time for the foretold event. The road is travel and you are not alone on it. travelers, peddlers, caravans of good,  local folk, and of course those who you don't want to meet or even be sen by. Whitecloaks troops move along the road.

It is one of these latter groups that draws you attention.  Laying over on of the troopers saddle is a woman, bound gagged and blindfolded.

The Officer a lieutenant you do not know. turns to his second. Sgt.  We will stop in the next village for the night.  You will see to the prisoner and make sure she is well guarded.

Orenshide makes his way along the well travelled road.  Noticing the Whitecloak prisoner, he can't help but wonder... how many prisoners have been innocent like Sarah... is this one innocent as well?

Finally his curosity gets the better of him, he decides to stop at the next village and see what answers he can come up with... after all the truth is the only thing that matters.

Re: Walking in the LIght
Ir is a moderate sized village. boastine and Inn and a tavern.  THe inn offers lodgeing food and drink, the tavern offer food and dring but not lodging.  IF Orensnide watches for a bit she can tell that the tavern is where most of the villagers go to.  THe inn mostly caters to traveles and caravans stopping for the night.  There ar wagons gather and their teams tied up off to the side of the Inn courtyard.  A fine coach is in the courtyard itself. couryard. along with some riding.

The Whitecloaks have begun to set up a camp off to the side of the caravan wagons. Keeping  to themselves.  However the Officers horse in tied at the hitching rack in the Inn's courtyard.

Looking around, Oren can see no sign of the girl.

Re: Walking in the LIght
Their are a few locals some of the better off folk who have more to spend and choose this place over the simpler fare of the tavern that serves most of the local fold.  The Whitecloak officer officer sits at the table and his and his sergeant stands at attention  as the officer speaks. From your table it is hard to hear what is being said but the sergeant nods and heads out of the inn.  The serving girl finishes with the Whitecloak officer then heads over to where you are sitting.

"What can I serve you. sir." she says politely.  She is a apple cheek country lass with a cheery smile. Her clan white apron over simple country attire.  We hve a fine stew ready to be served, In a bit we will have some roasted chicken, and vegetables.  Also fresh bread and Cheese and hard boiled eggs if you so desire.".

"Why... I believe I will have some of that delicious sounding stew."

Orenshide smiles at the serving girl as best he can, not being accustomed to smiling makes it looks as though he's trying too hard to please the server.

As the sergeant exits the inn he passes close enough to your table that you can see him clearly.  Hr doesn't looks familiar to you. Your meal is brought shortly the the serving girl who puts down a big tankard of cider.

"You looked Thirsty sir so I took the liberty of ordering a large cider for you."
