When Thayna is finished she asks "With your Permission Aes Sedai, I would like to go up to my room for a while. She resists looking at Nerissa but she hopes her friend will get the idea and come up too. Turning to Bren and the two who had accompanied them for so long Jennor and Ahlandra. "Take care.".

A few moment later he watch making sure Jennor is done eating "If it please you my lady, young Elan and myself will head out to check about said coach."

Tapping the younger man Bren stand giving a bow of respect then moving away in the dangerous predator like walk warders seem to gain.

"With your Permission Aes Sedai, I would like to go up to my room for a while."

Nerissa had been daydreaming and it took awhile for Thayna's comment to register in her subconscious. But when Thayna left, it occurred to Nerissa that she could leave too, "Yes, Aes Sedai, with your permission... I am tired and would like to rest as well." She got up and followed Thayna.

At the inn

Thayna and Nerissa makes their way upstairs to the room they had taken.  Ahlandra takes of a watch on their door.

Out and about in Whitebridge.

Bren and Jennor head out the from door into the evening the light had long since faded in the sky. Jennor know where he had seen the coach earlier. There were some Whitecloaks out an about in pairs or threes. Eyes noticed them, two well built me armored with swords and daggers, some just noticing them, others moving back into shadows deciding they were not for the taking still others avoiding them by stepping away from where they moved not wanting any problems imagined or not. It was only about 15 minutes before they reached the courtyard where Jennor has seen the coach earlier. It was still there.

Re: 4.2 White Tower
Thayna goes upstairs but just sits on the bed waiting for hopefully for Nerissa. She needed to talk to someone that she trusted and Nerissa was that person. While she sat her hands idly adjusted the folds of the gown that she had gotten from Azara. It was the nicest dress she had has since going to the White Tower.  It was not so much the dress but things she had learned and done since then that had changed who she was and perhaps even what she had wanted. But did it really.  She just didn't know how fundamentally she had changed.  Perhaps it was just the things that they had done that seemed different. Had ti truly changed her from wanting to be Aes Sedai and all that meant.  Her biggest problem that she saw was that restriction of fighting for anything more than defense or Shadowspawn.  She had realized that she felt good about fighting the Darkfriends and shadowspawn with a eagerness that would be frowned on in the White Tower. What could she do? What could she do?  IF she could do anything would she?

Nerissa went to the room that she and Thayna shared. Thayna was sitting on the bed staring off at something that only she could see. Nerissa closed the door and sat on the bed across from Thayna. "You seemed to have someting on your mind. Is it something that we both should discuss?"

"I am just not sure any more.  Not sure About becoming Aes Sedai Yet I have always wanted to before we were sent on the mission. The Tower was the only way for me to learn to use my abilities. Yet now.....I have seen those who use the Power and are not Aes Sedai. I could n not discuss this with Hadara Sedai it would reveal the things we had kept from her." I had looked forward to taking the Oaths but now......." Thyna's voice trailed off and she just shook her head slowly.

Thayna Dabei:
" I had looked forward to taking the Oaths but now......."

Nerissa sighed. She had wanted to become an Aes Sedai for years now, almost as soon as she had heard of their existence! It had seemed to her to be the only way for her to become trained in the use of her gift, to learn more from trained teachers rather than have to learn by herself, by trial-and-error.

In addition, becoming an Aes Sedai had offered her the chance to become a part of something, to a society to which she could feel that she was a part of. She did not feel a part of the Atha'an Miere culture, and had not since the death of her parents almost fifteen years before. She had felt, and continued to feel, rejected by the Atha'an Miere and an outcast from her own family.

Nerissa was tired of feeling lonely at odd hours and times. She wanted to be a part of something.

She wished that she had learned to cast Circle of Silence so that Hadara Sedai could not overhear. So she cast a counterspell for Eavesdrop to cover herself and Thayna.

"I too have had second thoughts and know how you feel." In a soft voice she related to Thayna the shipboard accident aboard the ship Gray Grouper in which both of her parents had been killed, her seasickness, the rejection that she had felt since that time from her own clan, Asfaring, and the lonely years that she had spent with only the elderly widow, Agatha din Falklyn Clear Gaze, and the Amayar, Gersafalla, who had taught her secrets of porcelain jewelry.

"Becoming an Aes Sedai had seemed to offer me a place, something that I had lost almost fifteen years ago, to which I could thereafter become a part. It offered a family as well as a society.

In addition, we can continue to learn new Weaves from others, as well as become teachers ourselves of new girls who come to the White Tower in the future.

The Oaths seem to be a part of the price to pay, seem limiting on the one hand, but then Aes Sedai are also known for using precise language to define the limits of the meaning of those words. It wouldn't surprise me that Aes Sedai have learned to walk the edges of those Oaths, and that we can learn how as well.

I agree that the freedom to be a Wilder is seductive, to be accountable only to oneself and to a small number of close friends. However, there is no support network at all, if times get tough. If you recall, Melina wanted to become a Wise One of the Aiel. So she wanted to become a part of a larger Society herself. Perhaps Azara will end up following that path herself.

Darek, being male, doesn't have these options. Male Channelers have had sad prospects since saidin became tainted. We, being female, are lucky that we do have options.

On balance, I believe becoming an Aes Sedai is best for me. In particular, there is the Great Library that I can go to and use for my porcelain research ... and a couple of other things that we can speak about in good time.

I agree that some of the Aes Sedai seem to be overbearing bitches and might be a good deal worse when we get to know them better. But, unless we get stuck in an administrative position in the bureaucracy, we can go about our business- if we can give a good rationale. At least that is how it has seemed to me.

And, believe me, that has been a major concern of mine, so I have been examining it closely!

So, how can I help you to calm your fears or to make your decision?"

Finishing his meal Bren give Hadara Sedai a quick bow and leave following Jennor.

They walk quickly at a brisk pace rying to locate the carriage.

If Bren took notice of the footpads who quickly darted out of his way he made no mention of it to his younger companion.

At the courtyard Bren nods with satisfaction at the carriage.

He move to door of the establishment and enter looking inside for men with the the emblem of the coat of arms on the carriage.

Re: 4.2 White Tower
The inn is fairly busy with travelers. Bren's eyes swept the room for the likely owner of the finely equipped coach out in the courtyard of the inn.  It was a a well appointed inn and the quality of hits patrons were well above average, rich merchants, well to do locals, and travelers with plenty of coin. There are several groups of  patrons that might possibly be the owners of the coach. There are a few obvious games of chance going on, at least a table of cards and one of dice. off towards the corners of the room.

The Innkeep arrives quickly, "Welcome, Welcome to the Gilded Stag, sirs. How may I help you?"

You don't know if he is  truly welcoming you or wondering if you have the coin to pay for the prices of his establishment.  Perhaps is is also worried about the swrods that you both carry openly. It is hard to say by his manners at this moment.

Bren offers a court nod to the Innkeeper ordering some wine for himself and young Jennor.

He then send the young man to search the room from the left to right while he does the same from the opposite direction with the goal to find and locate the patron who is the carriage owner.

Re: 4.2 White Tower
The are several possibilities to Bren way of thinking. A well dressed couple over in an alcove, a man of middle years with deep golden hair in well cut coat of deep green with trimming of embroidery. Only Lightly ornamented but well tailored nothing to really reveal his station in like. The man sat near the hearth his boot legs stretched out before him. Bren's attention was caught by a flash of metal on his boots. More than anything else he wore  was a indication of custom made they had silver heels protectors and silver tips. The man himself was not old nor young. Of middle years he was a well-built man with a look of one who was more active than inactive. He sat with a tankards in his hand deep in thought a contemplative look on his face.

Re: 4.2 White Tower
The man turns his head towards Bren as he removes his feet from the hearth. "I have  had the pleasure of meeting that Lady before,"  There was a very subtle accent on the word "Lady". "I did not think she traveled this far south preferring the city and her books." All the will he was assessing the two of you and you were quite sure he had your measure or something fairly close to the to it.

Bren shifts sliding into a siting position next to the man "Indeed yet matter of her own affairs had lead her to Whitebridge."

He lean forward talking in a quiet tone "She commissioned me to go to you and ask for your aid, she need a carriage to leave the town discretely. You know how children are and the lady had no time to play nanny for those running lose in Whitebridge."

"I have a mind to go out in a bit. Perhaps you can give me a name of a decent place that I may enjoy a quiet drink." The man's cool gray eyes met Bren and then Jennor's eyes. Perhaps in a a bit. A bit louder he said. "I need to think about this.  I have considered hiring more guards, so I will let you know one way or another, later. I will talk to you lady about this matter."

"May the light shine on your path," he mutters as he heads out back to their own inn.

Thayna looks a Nerissa. "That was all I ever wanted as well Nerissa, to be Aes Sedai. I will be a Green the Battle Ajah when I am raised.  But since we have gone on this trip I have sen those that use the One Power as a weapons and know that is circumscribed by the Oaths. We can only use the One Power as a weapon if we are directly threatened or our warders are. My thoughts were that the Oaths limit our ability. There must be a good reason why but now I do not see the reason for it."

Bren and Jannor returns to the inn, all the way Bren made sure they were not followed by street tough or worse.

He give his report curtly to the Aes Sedai "If you need anything else from me my lady? " he asks "if not with your permission I will go set watch."

Nerissa had been thinking about these ideas ever since she had heard of the White Tower and had thought about becoming an Aes Sedai. "The last isn't difficult. If there were no strictures for the Sisters on their wielding saidar then I would think that they would quickly acquire a self-importance and arrogance quite beyond their abilities of self-control. They all would know best and would be fighting among themselves for dominance. The White Tower would fall from within. The collateral damage among the general populace would be fearful.

The Oaths require that the Aes Sedai focus their intent and think of their outcomes beforehand. That is why Aes Sedai are known for their use of language and its meaning.

The Oaths do not necessarily limit one's ability, but rather limit one's intent. If the Aes Sedai has the ability, she can becomes as powerful as she is able to focus these intentions within the strictures of the Oaths."

Jennor nodded his head to acknowledge as he said, "He did seem to recognize your name Lady Hadara, favorably... I believe.  He indicated that he had been thinking of hiring a few additional guards, though that may have just been a ruse meant to be overheard."

Jennor glanced at Bren and added, "Let me know when its my turn for the watch schedule."
