Darek followed Rai'el out of the village turned walled town. As a group, they would do what they could. Bandits were bad news and becoming more common as the Dark One's influence stretched ever further; strengthening the darkness in some people.

Like a rabid dog, he wouldn't hesitate to put such tainted creatures down. Unlike the poor rabid dog, he'd not feel sorrow over doing it. Pity, but not sorrow.

Accompanying the scouting party as offered Hangar breaks into what looks like an easy jog when the horses begin to pick up the pace, easily matching them in both speed and endurance, his almost unimaginable strength making light work of not only his own mass but the well stocked bag on his back.  Keeping a keen eye on the unfamiliar surroundings he makes a point of not being caught in the middle of the horses but stays fairly close in to the side of the group as they charge along.

Nerissa surveyed the wounded inside the inn, and decided to attend to the child first. And, to be sure that there were no supernatural afflictions present, she decided to cast a Delve Weave on the child first. (Level 2; she has the Healing Talent so it becomes level 3)

She motioned for Thayna to come over and observe. Even though she had been her friend since this adventure had begun, Nerissa did not know if Thayna was able to Heal or if she was proficient at it!

Hearing no objections he gestured for the guards to open the gates so they may pass to complete their mission.  He paused for a moment before he spurred his horse through the open gates, "Let's go." was all he said before he passed through the gates and rode outward in the direction the raiders were said to be.  He slowed his horse a little to allow for the Aiel to pass them by, though it would turn out to be unnecessary with the speed at which they moved.  He would ride at the lead waiting any word from the scout, his mind constantly on strategy and formations that would work against what was likely to be seen in the enemy camp.

To the rescue-- if any are left alive

The party leaving the town wait for the gates to open and then follow the few caravan guards in shape to travel.  The night is dark with a almost full moon  of moon to help them on their way.


each of those in party describe you action--what are you doing as you travel.  There is moderate brush cover near the river and some thin forest  as well.  Small copses of tress to the right also provide,  The river road is place at a higher elevation so that the spring flooding will not wipe it out.  The normal sounds of animals can be discerned if you pause  to make a perception check.  IF you do make a spot or listen roll please post them with actions.


In the Inn.   Nerissa motions to Thayna who moves over towards he friend. As she approaches  Nerissa Melina joins them as well.

Despite his larger than average size even among his own people, or perhaps because of it, Hangar proves quite able to disappear into the forest at night, making use of his considerably better night vision than the smaller folk to stay out of the light and still move without disturbing a single tree, or even many leaves on the ground.

Darek follows the guards, his memories of this area more of the daytime then night.

He watches for signs of ambush even more so than his usual habit of always expecting an attacker to leap out at them. Dressed in fine armor as he and his mount are, many would try to attack him first, expecting him to be in charge.

With the Ogier with them, they may try to take the larger target down first.

Kail rode along following the caravan guards as he did not know the area they were in.  He held the reins with one hand as he unconsciously checked his sword in it's sheath with the other.  Satisfied he returned his other hand to the reins and watched the woods as they rode by them.  He didn't see anything but shadows as he moved but kept his eyes up and searching as he rode.  He could feel Thayna, her emotions and the pain, moving further back in his mind as he rode.  At first it was subtle but when they had put some distance between the village and themselves he could tell that the sensitivity of the bond had been dulled a little.  He didn't really understand it yet, perhaps that would come with time, but he knew exactly where she was and had a sense of how she felt.  He knew that would come in handy but he was slightly distracted by it and would have to get used to someone else's emotions in his head quickly.

Nerissa tries to learn if there are any supernatural effects at work, in addition to the more usual normal effects of poison, disease and wounds, with her Delve Weave.

At the inn

Nerissa and Thayna examine those injured.  Nerissa can sense not Unnatural source and the injures as she selves the most injured first.  However from the one preteen boy that seems uninjured but unconscious,  She sense something that twigs her senses though she cannot precisely place that feeling,  Upon Delving the you boy she senses that he is utterly drain if energy but otherwise unhurt.  He needs to be kept warm and sleep is your best estimate of nis care.

For the other Aes Sedai and Wise One the injures and burns are straight forward.  Two guard have broken arms and another a badly sprained angle.  Burns cuts and bruised make up the majority of physical injuries.  Anxiety, confusion and fear, make up the rest.

It will take a hours or so of healing and reassurance to get everyone  seen to and settled down,

What else are you doing during this time.



On the Road.

As the party of riders nears the attack pint the smell of smoke becomes more intense.  Raiel motions Darek that is is Swinging around the area and leaves the group as they approach.  The small stand of trees near the river

"It is just over there," points the guard who was serving as their guide.  Not that this site was had to miss. .  They Attacked from the woods  and the river and had us cut off before we knew they were there.

The group rides into camp  to the sight of burning wagons a couple of dead draft animals, and a few bodies of guards and several still alive but held in harness with a dead companion. but the ,

With Raiel's warning and nearing the camp, Darek opens himself up to Saidin.

He looks where she points, using his now enhanced senses to see who or what is hiding and rusting the leaves.

If it is a small enough group, he weaves air to trap them.

Kail's hand drifts to his sword as they ride towards the camp.  He watches around as he rides into the camp.  His eyes are up and looking around the camp, first at the animals and dead men but then on the trees and their surroundings searching for enemies.

Upon completing his wide half circle around the Camp Hangar waits at the edge of the available cover in the woods until one of his allies, and nobody else, is watching his hiding place to step out briefly and wave to ensure they know his position, before fading back into the woods without interrupting any of the other humans from their various tasks at the camp.

Nerissa stabilized the young boy then tended to the rest of the injured along with Thayna, Melina, and the Village Wisdom.

Having done the best that all can do with the other injured, Nerissa asked that Thayna, Melina, and the Wisdom to return to the young boy. "This boy has somehow been drained of energy. I will show you a Weave that attempts to Restore that energy by converting ability damage to subdual damage."

She placed her hands upon the boy, tried to Concentrate in order to Overchannel by one Level, using Restore at Casting Level 5.

OOC: As she has the Powers of Earth, Spirit, and Water, she can cast at one level higher, or level 6. She would have failed at Concentration if she had had to cast at Level 6, but is successful in the Cast at level 5+1, taking a full twenty minutes for the Weave.

Nerissa din Nelyn rolled 11 using 4d4. Restore at Level 6.
Nerissa din Nelyn rolled 24 using 1d20+21. Concentration to Overchannel, TN25.

11 points of Ability Damage are converted to Subdual Damage.

Note: Thayna, Melina, (or the Wisdom) could try Weavesight to learn the Weave in they can cast at Level 2.

Nerissa's restoration has some positive affect on the boy, instead of a totally limp body and pale cold shim a faint flush of color creeps into his face and there is a faint movement in his eyes though they do not open.

Finishing with the others who have the greatest need first Thayna, the Wisdom and Melina turn to see what Nerissa is doing Thayna notices Nerissa' weaving again over the boy and her weave sight catches  that it is a restore weave.  "Good idea," she says to Melina .  She is trying a high level restore.heads that way with Melina while the Wisdom moves off out of the inn to aid whoever else needs healing or her other services outside.

Thayna moves up to Nerissa and asks,  "Is there any signs of improvement?  Perhaps we can  link to find out With a deeper Delve or whatever you might suggest."

Melina approaches. Nerissa and Melina. Glancing at the boy after the restore she frowns a bit.  The restore should have worked much better if this had been normal exhaustion.

"There is something more going on here than simple exhaustion," she casts a look at both Thayna and Nerissa. "Any ideas? Surely we can figure this out a young perfectly healthy boy drain almost completely.  What could have done that?  Melina puzzled over the idea even has she asks the others for their thoughts.

At the camp

Hanger's wide sweep around the camp yields some interesting tracks even if he is puzzled but the fact that he has never seen anything like these before in his life.  Lizards like track of a huge size  They apparently hide behind a rise in the ground with the animals until hey attacked,  He finds mo bodies but did find a trail of blood in several area so some of the raiders  obviously was wounded.

Raiel's looping path cuts  those the huge tracks leading into and out of the area where the caravan was attacked.  However these tracks are not unknown to her--Seanchan.

She finds not enemies left in the area so she returns to the others where they gather near the wagons.

The guard starts to undo the harness of the living animals and hitches them up to a useable wagon. after pulling it away from one the dead horse to hitch up a full team  While he is intent on salvaging as much as he can.
Darek and Kail  take a look around  It doesn't take long for the small arty to realized that the bandits, raiders, or whomever, waited in ambush to attack.  However their precision of the attack and the way they cut down on horse in a team to freeze the wagons and Speaks of experience and perhaps even training..

While Kail and Darek gather their own information from the sire the guard walks up to them.  "You know it is strange but they didn't seem to take anything but prisoners,  they did not even go though any of of the trunks or take any supplies.  So why did they attack?"

Darek took in what he'd seen and what the guard relayed. He called Raiel over when she returned from her foray.

"I can only think of two group that would have taken the prisoners. Aiel, but they would have taken supplies or at least valuables. Bandits would have robbed and let everyone go, or killed them all."

"Seanchan might have collared any who could channel and taken the others to swear fealty."

"Would the Shaido have taken only prisoners?"

Nerissa nodded at Thayna's suggestion that they link.

While Delve was not too strong a Weave that one channeler could not perform it by herself, perhaps they could obtain more information by linking. "Who shall act as the leader?

I can do it, or either you or Melina could do it as well."

"Certainly I will join you,"  I think Darek and the others have neared Where the caravan was attacked.  There is a heightened awareness I feel from him."  While both Darek and Melina both channelers and bonded to each other she knows there connection is close,however she has nothing to compare their connection too.

Having embraced the One Power to search the area, and feeling Melina ready to look, Darek used their double bond to feed Melina whatever of his power she chose to draw.

It was instinctual and nearly subconscious. If she was about to link, then something must be dire enough to need a circle.

At the caravans location

Hammar found track of strange beast and men but could not identify them having never seen a torm  or raken. However you come across two oxen and three horses still in their harness that had been cut loose,  They are a little skittish as your approach, but a calm voice and a soothing song soon allows you to gather them up

Raiel also found these tracks a little further out and does recognized them

Derek's party examine the remains of the caravan and those who died defending it.  Strangely goods seem to be intact though things had been gone through and thrown about   Darek sure that. robbery  was not the motive for the attack.It looks like they were looking for something or someone perhaps both.  There are three wagons left here mostly because they were damaged or their horses or oxen were killed, They can be recovered but new draft animals will have to be brought out  to return them to the town.

As the camp group sorts through the bodies and belongings  rail and Hammar return from their searches to share their information.

In the Inn

Melina and Nerissa heal the worse of the injured. marshaling their power in case of further need. The wise women that married Melina and Derek not that long ago works alongside until all have been tended to. Melina movers over to Nerissa.  When all have been seen to Melina and Nerissa are encouraged to sit and eat at a small table near the warm hearth, are able to sit down and take refreshment Which was a soup stretch to feed the many who now occupied the common room and flat pan bread and country butter,  It is simple yet filling the soup in ladle out in all sorts of containers to  feed those ready to eat.

Raiel finish her circuit of the area after finding the tracks of the Torm and the raken she notices notices a strange line near the raken's tracks as if something were dragging A wounded wing which thankfully would slow down the raiding party. from it. She narks the spot with a simple trail sign recognizable by Aiel. Enemy this way before making her way back to the remains of the ccaravan.

Darek looked to Rai'el when she came back. "What did you find?" he asked. He was already thinking Seanchan or Shaido, hoping Rai'el found clues as to which had attacked.

After eating Nerissa suggested that she and Thayna recheck all of those injured and healed to see how all fared now, after eating.

Nerissa had learned several Healing Weaves from Melina and the Wise Women, and wanted to show her gratitude and appreciation for their teaching.
