Garina was glad the choice Arven made as to avoid the nearby battle. Staying close to Arven’s ATV she scanned the area to see if there were being followed or tracked electronically.

Arven heads out with his crew, while Solstice hangs back for a few moments, and approaches the campsite.


The rest of Pukt's squad can be seen off in the distance, half-way to the crash site from here. As Arven's crew heads off to catch up, the previously mentioned group of Cyber Knights and Arthur (in his glitter boy) make it to the top of one of the higher hilltops.

A moment later one of the rear tires of the ATV explodes with the impact of a boom gun, and spins out in the mud, nearly taking out Troy.

*Anyone with long-distance viewing can see they consist of 7 humans on hovercycles or robotic horses, and one Glitter Boy variant. They are approximately 1.3 miles away on a hilltop.

Garina swars in her native tounge "Gottverdammt!" As the ATV's tire is blown away. Landing near the immobilized vehicle at such an angle where it is between here and further shots fired from the Glitter Boy, she looks into the cab at Arven. "Leave truck, should fly away." While waiting for a response she set about jamming the mecha's long range.

Glitter Boys and Cyberknights were definitely not magical.  James wasn't enthused about this turn of events.  He grabs the rune sword and his rifle from the hover Cycle and take cover behind the crippled ATV.

Holding the sword in his hand he starts talking to it.

"Ok you dark arts piece of shit, you got any dirty tricks to get us out of this mess?

Arven clicks on the radio. "The brothers skeedaddled aways back you dumb cocksuckers. Ya think their stupid enough to come right back into the thick of shit? This crew ain't done shit so let em' go. Leaning out the window he whispers to Garina.  The side door of the ATV pops open and a giant size arm sticks out offering the middle finger up in the direction of the Glitter boy and Cyber-Knights then disappears back into the large vehicle.

Troy had been excited to fight, whatever was approaching, cyber knights or bounty hunters. But seeing as Arven has not taken a stand, or begun setting up a defense, Troy decides he does not want to die alone, and not for some four-armed jack ass like Arven.

   The Cyber Knights and bounty hunters spread out, into three teams. One team heads straight for the main group, while the other two are circling around to come at Arven and his merry men from both sides.

   While Arven puts his plan of escape into action, seeing as though his crew is outnumbered, and under-prepared, the mysterious rune sword in Thornton's hand has other plans...

   The winds pick up, knocking Thanatos from his bike. The torrential downpour of rain is mixed with mud as the group finds themselves in the midst of a small tornado. There is a tearing sound, accompanied by a high-pitched screeching, a ruthless odour, and an energy-draining, almost paralyzing effect on everyone except for Garina. Thoughts of escaping are diminished when the surrounding terrain changes from that of a muddy battlefield near Tolkeen... to a gaseous cloud, set ablaze in all directions.

   Unnoticed by most, two long-demonic arms composed completely of shadow reach out from the torrent towards the sacrificial campsite, and latch on to an unsuspecting Solstice. He is dragged back to the others through the mud, and into the grasp of some bewildering force.

   The entire group, vehicles and all find the winds calming, the screeching quieting, and the fiery surroundings dissipating to reveal...

   ...A large cavern inside of a deep and dark cave.

   Within seconds the battlefield is gone, and is replaced with cold rock, and darkness. Without sight, the first details of the dark cave are based on sound. There is a faint dripping, echoing throughout. Any sound echoes loudly... this cavern is huge...

The sword speaks to you telepathically once more "There. That is better." He states matter-of-factly. "I am home. She should be here......"

After a few moments of silence, Solstice recovers himself and stands up.
He growls quietly to himself "What is this foul sorcery.."

While he waits for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, the wolfen sniffs at the air and slowly draws his blade from its sheath.

Thanatos slowly gets himself to his feet, "Well, at least those gentlemen will not have the pleasure of killing us today... where are we... what happened?" Thanatos will put his hand to the ground and use object reading to try and see if he can get a feel for what's been in this cave recently.

Arven's crew is set upon by demons in this dark, unknown cave. It would seem this sword has removed the group from their original predicament and replaced it with one involving savage monsters, salivating with hopes of devouring Arven and his band of merry men and women.

They are swiftly subdued, however they manage to bring down the cave on top of the group... They are however vigilant and are able to free themselves in good time.

Outside of the cave, quickly reveals the group is at least still on Earth... and a patrol of Glitter Boy power armours near by, complete with Quebec Military markings reveals a more general location.

Arven's crew moves on out of the cave, and easily avoids any other Quebec patrols as they try to find their bearings and precisely where they have ended up.

From the top of a mighty hill, behind the cover of trees, and boulders, the group becomes witness to a historical event. Far down below, the forces of Quebec and the forces of Tolkeen are meeting, to discuss terms of peace...

Diplomacy does not last long before Quebec springs their trap and opens fire on the Tolkeen ambassadors and their entourage. They execute every last one of them, the final few while begging for their lives on their hands and knees...

Arven leads the team down from the hilltop, and then south until they find a road sign confirming they are just outside the south west border of Quebec territory.

Quebec forces flood to the area like a swarm of bees, making it very difficult and time consuming to move about without detection. It is even more difficult to breach the surrounding noose the Coalition have placed around Tolkeen as they tighten their grip.

It takes several weeks of endless scouting to locate a weak point in the southern sector of CS lines, to be able to pass through. And weeks more to narrowly avoid the focus of Tolkeen troops inside what remains as Tolkeen territory. It is during this time, the group realizes their relocation must have had an effect on time, or placed them all in some sort of stasis for a while, as they disappeared late in September, but is was November by the time they reached a town on the outskirts of the war zone.

It is not until mid-December when Arven and crew are finally on a clear path back toward Juyong Outpost to finally locate Lotus and Silvermasque of Pluto Company...

The outpost is just 6 hours away at the group's minimum speed - going along with the Trailblazer ATV.

I think it is time to wrap this thread up. Too many characters held back waiting on Arven...

I hope Malefic returns, but if he does - he can bring Arven over to the mercs game.

The group will be inside Tolkeen during the final siege, and will be split up and scattered when the shit really hits the fan. Everyone is left to fend for themselves, and get themselves out of the war zone. Unless necessary, everyone will get out, and have no idea what happened to anyone else in the crew.

Anyone interested, can transfer their characters over to Mercs.
